Two things with regard to the game against the Rangers and the upcoming games against the Islanders because both teams will play the trap when theyre leading:
They have to score first against the Islanders. Once the Islanders get the lead, they're going to lock it down and a 2-0 lead is effectively a death sentence. (This is a stupid John Madden-esque point I know. "You gotta score a goal if you want to win the game." But it's true)
They need to utilize their mobile D to carry the puck over the red line and dump it in when the forwards have momentum moving into the zone. Too many times against the Rangers, they were dumping the puck in with zero momentum. |

I feel like they coach the forwards to cheat the zone and create rushes. Think this is just part of Donnie hockey.
