The bootleg when Josh had just come out of the blue tent was another brain fart of a call. - kingcong39
It was, but to be fair, I'm sure Josh let them all know he was 100% and could run any play. But it was a good spot for the coaches to save Josh from himself.
Situational awareness, and resisting the urge to be safe, or stupid.
Josh running out of the shotgun increases the effectiveness of everything.
It's part of the reason why Kincaid was open for the TD on the 3rd down play. - kingcong39
Josh is so much more effective when you get him in Sync early. Taking away his options to run with the ball or roll out and throw takes away the effectiveness of the Offense IMO.

Aside from that INT, which was fluky, Josh had a very efficient night.
31/40, 324 yards, 2 TD, 40 yards rushing with 1 rushing TD, he was 77% on completions and he spread the ball around - 4 receivers had 60+ yards. 106 rating.

I think your perception of Josh in the 2nd half would be completely different if they went for it on even one of the 4th and short plays, instead of punting.
To me, it looked like Josh made both of the 3rd down throws with the purpose of going for it on 4th and less than 5 each time.

He was still good in the second half. Tampa adjusted to try and keep things in front and underneath them and they managed to stall out a few drives.

Oh I am not blaming the 2nd half on Josh, I just think he was very good in the 1st half, believe he was 15 for 19 with 215yrds. He was in sync and I don't like they took that away in the 2nd Half.

Result of every run out of the shotgun by a running back last night:
- 2nd and 1 at TB29: Murray 5 yard run
- 1st and goal at the 8: Cook 4 yard run - 3rd and goal at the 1: Murray no gain
- 1st and 10 at TB23: Cook 8 yard run
- 1st and 10 at BUF25: Cook 18 yard run
- 2nd and 8 at TB41: Cook 5 yard run
- 3rd and 3 at TB36: Cook 4 yard run
- 2nd and 10 at TB20: Cook -2 yard run (play before the Kincaid TD throw by Josh on 3rd and 12)
- 2nd and 1 at TB48: Cook 4 yard run
- 1st and 10 at BUF23: Murray 2 yard run (5 straight passes after before punting)
- 2nd and 2 at BUF25: Cook 3 yard run
- 1st and 10 at TB48: Cook 9 yard run
- 1st and 10 at BUF33: Cook 1 yard run
Ya, thanks...should have been more explicit in that the second bullet, it applies to the condition in the 1st bullet, specifically "inside the 2".
I do admit that It wasn't written as explicitly as it was meant.

Correct.
The runs were effective last night out of the shotgun, but they need to be more situationally aware, like the shotgun run on 3rd and goal at the 1, or 2nd and 10 at the Tampa 20.
Summary: The coaching staff needs to resist the urge to be stupid, or safe - kingcong39

Yeah, that's a dumb witch hunt type take. Its not like he was rushed on to the field in the middle of a drive. When would it be ok? the 2nd play? 3rd play? Brainfart of a take.
