>>> The Tampa Bay Lightning have turned Jonas Johansson into something special:

> 7 Games
> .925SV%
> 221 Saves (1st in NHL)
> +6.51 Goals Saved Above Expected (4th in NHL)

Because of COURSE they have.

The Lightning named FRANTZ JEAN as goaltending coach on September 7, 2010. Currently entering his 11th season, he works with and develops all goaltenders in the organization. Jean has been involved in coaching for more then 30 years.

Coaching matters?…. Who has Bales developed? But don’t worry, Anderson is around for additional vibes.

What's a serious offer for McDavid?

I can't even think of one.

Cozens + Power + Rosen + two 1sts?

Honestly, I think it's more along the lines of Dahlin + Cozens + Benson + multiple 1sts. They would want our best center or defender in the deal, either Power for Dahlin swap or Cozens for Tage.

The price would strip any team that acquired him bare. Without cash to change hands, like with Gretzky, he's almost too good to acquire IMO...does that make any sense?

Idk that any team would go that length though

If he requests out (looking at least possible) they'll eventually move him before he walks after 2026.

29 in 2026.

Whos paying the guy 15+milly into his late 30's?

Does he take a cut to actually win a chip? God knows he wont in Edmonton.

If it gets to the point where he's sitting out or demanding a trade, then yeah, price drops and that might do it. It'd probably have to get pretty ugly first.

If he's still playing anywhere near his current level, anyone in the league would sign him to 15M, especially with the cap apparently raising dramatically. I mean, only so many teams could afford him, but if he just wants the bag...I wouldn't be surprised if he's over 20M by then.

I was actually going to mention him as he's a very good example. Would have to go public in the same way and poop throwing, like his agent did, would have to begin.

If he is walking in 26, the ask drops as it reduces the Oilers leverage significantly.

Being able to take on a bad contract or 2 makes it even more attractive for the Oilers since the move will trigger a rebuild.

You think it gets that high in 2 more seasons? Thats wishful thinking imo

I could see like a 15x4 deal and then maybe he tries for 20?

They trade McDavid then they have to trade Drais as well youd think.

They build their team so poorly

That's only if he pushed it, but if he went to free agency only to take the highest bidder...you don't think someone would go nuts? He'll set a record as a UFA either way. If he wants to win, he'll stay around 15 as you mentioned. Really just depends where his priorities are at.

Why didn't the bills place Araiza on the NFL commissioner's exempt list like the chiefs just did with Ross?

"For now, the problem is that most teams don’t want punters or kickers who come with baggage, even if the baggage is embellished, exaggerated, or even outright fabricated."

That's why the Bills didn't put him on the Commissioner's exempt list.

oh one written today

"In effect, for Matt Araiza to return to the league, all his legal issues likely need to be over. These range from the civil trial to the resolution of his defamation lawsuit against the initial accuser. That will ensure that the public interest in this case declines to a certain degree.

Most importantly, if that happens, he will still need a chance where the right opportunity opens up at the right time. A punter remains more replacable than most positions. One only needs to look at Deshaun Watson to understand how different positions have different worths.

The quarterback also stands accused of sexual harrasment and still has a civil lawsuit pending. Yet, he is playing on a guaranteed contract with the Cleveland Browns."
