I’ll take it.

Thought they were (frank)ed when Detroit scored their 3rd.

Yup, definitely important to get that point. Of course, early in the 3rd when they went up by 2 goals, I thought they might be coming away with a regulation win. Oh well...

Not much in the way of positive takeaways. For 50 minutes they played a strong game and then just went numb from the shoulders up. Gotta feel bad for Sorokin. He makes great save after great save but the rest of them keep daring teams to take advantage of their mistakes.

Have to agree but I will add Wings goalie was very good as well and made some big saves.

This should have been 2 pts...instead we get the kiss your sister point. Sorokin and Varly have been the best Isles so far. Yes Nelly as well.

Everyone else...

I think you are right on this. Why in God’s name did he start changing up the lines with fifteen mins left up by two goals? It was such a bizarre coaching decision and I am sure there was a reason for it but I didn’t see it. They completely imploded immediately after the lines were all mixed up.

I missed most of the game. Why would he change up when they are up 2-0 in the 3rd?

I have no idea. I was half arsed paying attention in all honesty but noticed the lines were all blended then they imploded. I know Barzal sat for a bit in the second I assume he was not happy with some players.

Great to see horvat score some goals but the rest of his game outside of face offs is god awful so far this season.

Well at least the Penguins lost in worse fashion and also didn't get a point

Never understood brining in Karlsson. That team needs to rebuild.

They need a coach that understands offense without the defense falling apart and someone that can unlock Barzal's talent.

They just completely imploded soon after that inexplicable time delay by the refs. Have no idea what happened there? Huge momentum swing coinciding with that and mixed up lines. Weird and embarrassing to watch.

Very strange for a Vet team. Does not help the Rangers swept their road trip.

Stuff like this is what gets coaches canned. Vukota may be on to something.

It was a dumb move. Barzal is never going to be a defensive wiz and Lee does not have the speed to keep up with today’s NHL. I’ve also not been impressed with Horvat’s overall game. I’m not sure how things will work out with Barzal and the Islanders. You are seeing troubling signs.

Not sold on Lane. Thought him breaking up Bo and Barzal was the wrong move last night. They have created numerous scoring chances every game so far. Lat night they had some real good looks and The Wings goaltender made some good saves.
Bo has been an animal imho and internet GM's who hated the trade saying he's scoring and good on fA's but the rest of his games sucks is comical.

If this team doesn't make the playoffs and Ledecky & Malkin decide they have had enough of Lou's shenanigans, the next GM could get a decent haul for Barzal in a retooling of this roster.

It's been a strange season already. Lane coaching last night like they were looking for their 1st win was bizarre. Very strange mix with this team right now. There seems to be a disconnect on the style of play between some of the players and the coach. I do not think Barzal fits the style Lou likes to play.

Surprised you feel that way about Bo. I think he has been more than solid and I thought him and Barzal look really good together. To think Horvat was going to keep up that scoring pace from last year with the Canucks is unrealistic imo. If he did he would be getting 10 mil a year 🤣

If you’re going to trade Barzal might as well trade Sorokin Nelson Horvat Pulock Pelech and anybody else worth anything and gut the whole thing. That’s not happening yet at least so trading just Barzal who is their only playmaker doesn’t seem smart imo.

I think it's more about not finding the best player for Barzal. Bo is a good player maybe just not the best fit. I think someone like Cat was the better fit for Barzal. The style Barzal wants to play does not seem to mesh with the style Lou and Lane want to play.
