Remember everyone saying Boston was doomed.

I do

Perhaps the players play for pride when they play for a original six team with high expectations

Too bad, we are a 1970 expansion team so no pride is needed.

This was known, the GM signed daddy roles on the roster to help. The fab 5 1st rounders still need Don Meatball, he ain’t going anywhere.

As someone who just endured 5 yrs of the Swarm... coaching makes a Gigantic difference...

Cronin has taken basically the same players and molded shaped them into a completely different totally unrecognizable team. For the good.

Their leadership group knows how to win.

The Sabres decided career underachieving Okposo and A guy that falls a lot was their leadership.

That's it right there lon, there should be No shortage of effort out there with being a young team. Mistakes will happen, but effort should never be a question. And for some reason it is way to much and often.
- Buff36

Because all a prospect needs to do in Buffalo is show some spark and then the fans love him and he is set for life.

Remember when Kaddish fought his buddy from junior(on another team) in an arranged fight and everyone thought he would kill Lucic?

They were smiling as they were fighting.

And McNabb had that one shift in that same game (I think) and drive to the net and showed balls and scored.

Then they get the call up and can (frank) the dog because Buffalo has a rep of low expectations and comfortable living. A guy making $1 Million can live like a king in Buffalo, even $750000.

Then they get traded bc of “attitude issues” and then they get traded and “miraculously” turn into a very good nhl player.

See:

Rhino
Jack
McNabb
Paul Byron
That defense that stars for Florida but I can’t remember his name right now
Zadorov

edit- Risto sucks, period.

Feel free to add to the list.

Boils down to reputation for dog (frank)ing being allowed and undeserved stardom

Maybe terry is star struck it maybe he has no clue.

Exactly.

Did they keep the worlds okayest Latvian hockey player because they wanted to not get skunked during that draft? Losing out on grigorenko?

I mean who is better Paul Gaustsd or Girgs?

What exactly do they do around here?

I think this is mostly the case due to Terry not wanting to pay for someone else not actually working for him.

It's crazy to think about. Guy is signed for 2 more seasons (after this) for no particular reason.

For an owner who is sick of paying coaches/gm's to not work for him, what was he thinking?

Ryan Reaves says the Leafs addressed the lack of physical response after the game and today and that it won’t happen again.

Completely agree with no excuse for lack of effort and young team. They’re all under 25 years old. They shouldn’t have to come off the ice.

These games vs Toronto are typically back and forth barn burners, which are the type of games the Sabres look their best at.

LeafLand not too happy with their “soft” players, nor their coach. Expect the leafs to come out with a little more edge than usual tonight.

Hmm, Ryan Reaves, who played in the game, whose only job is to punch faces, couldn't even accomplish that? WTF is he there for?
