RUSLAN ISKHAKOV...

I say give this kid a chance on west coast. If you are going to scratch Walhstrom let him do a conditioning stint at Bridgeport. It is not a major change but is the worst that could happen. This kid pots a few for you. I think he has earned a look.

A couple of us have mentioned Ishakov. Push Palms to the 3rd line and try Ishakov with Nelson.

We agree about Maloney. He always gets my vote for worst Islander GM ever. Even worse than Milbury or Snow..........for the reason you state: He took a really good team put together by Torrey and gradually tore it apart.

The irony of snow is the majority of the current roster, or at least half the players, are guys he selected.

This is the issue though. The roster has become stale with not enough turnover.

I don’t disagree. Watching the game again this morning they had plenty of chances and carried the play last night. Just a few defensive mistakes and goals and up in the net. They have to button that up. Also as some including you have said, they lack scoring punch. It changes everything if they score on one or two of those early chances. And that late second period goal was a dagger to the back.

From what I remember, the team seemed to have good chemistry too. Guys all got along and played for each other. That seems to be an important factor in winning teams. I know some disagree, but that seems to motivate guys to give it that extra effort.

By the way, I'm not suggesting that's the problem with the current team. I think the current team's problem is simpler: it just lacks scoring talent.

Could not believe when he was hired by Pickett (?). An ex Ranger as an Islanders GM!
WTF were they thinking.

That’s why I questioned Picket because that was the time where every year someone else was buying them.
