2 more lottery picks should fix it folks

2 more years of tanking and then we try to compete for the 8th seed

- homiedclown

At least it was worth watching when we tried to score goals. Let’s take a completely high powered, offensive minded team and try and turn them into a trap team. Quality coaching

I was thinking the same. He's playing 11 minutes a night with Larry and Moe. His career is going to be over if this continues

Thinking about if the Sabres opt to do a front office shuffle of some sort down the line

President - Kevyn Adams
GM - Jason Karmanos
Assistant GM - Sam Ventura
Assistant GM - Mark Jakubowski
Advisor - Kyle Okposo

Get better assistant coaches behind the bench with Granato too

Not even turning them into a trap team, just a better overall 200ft team. IMO they need to replace Wilford and his Defensive system.

>>> Reiterating for the AM crowd. It is really easy to see why Kevyn Adams is considering Kane. They could use one more wing with scoring potential and he wouldn’t cost an asset to acquire.
The maddening part is he put himself in this position due to his lack of activity this summer

>>> I’m gonna take an L on this one - Eric Johnson has to sit. Early on I really felt his PK work was enough to offset his 5v5 detriment.

That was incorrect (at least it became so). He’s a black hole.

Time face reality a bit about Samuelsson...?

>>> 4-7-0 now. He and Dahlin have a 42% xG share together. Play him as a third pair D now

We might have to face reality on a couple other guys not named Okposo or Girgensons at the end of this year

Did KA sign all these old guys for this year because he thought they had something left in the tank, or because he knew they didn't and it would give him another year to find answers?

Not to toot my own horn here, but several of us were extremely concerned last off-season that the Sabres scoring would regress. They over achieved in every aspect on offense by all accounts last year.

How's their xGA? Would like to see comparisons last season for both metrics

Solid perspective. Could be very true. Verdict was still out on a couple guys and had to see if a couple more could maintain their play under a different system:
I expected much more from Cozens Uber this.
Not shocked but a bit surprised that Mitts has been so successful under it.
I’d say the serious bubble players arenot counting pending UFA)

Krebs
Jost

Possible bubble

Cozens
Samuelsson
UPL

Define bubble.

I don't consider Cozens a bubble player in the vein I think uou mean...it's why I want clarity on your definition. Samuelson may not be a top 4 D man yet, but I can see him growing into a solid 2nd pairing over the next couple of seasons.

Why is Cozens a bubble player ? He gets switched around and has no stability with linemates at all.
And Samuelsson is a decent Dman, just probably will never stay Healthy enough to be a true Top 4

Does it matter at this point if Cozens and Samuelsson are bubble players?

They've committed to both long term as core players.

Time to stop (frank)ing around and support them properly (Samuelsson on the appropriate pairing, no more rotating cast of misfit linemates for Cozens).

Bubble- you are likely being traded or brought out to the wood shed

Possible bubble- Your role is being diminished or you are now on a list of possibilities when other GM’s call

Edmonton is making a coaching change. Jay Woodcroft being relieved of his duties. Thought last nights win would buy some time, but that’s not the case.

Still think right now
Dahlin Johnson
Power Joker
Samuelsson Clifton
Are your best 6, yes it sucks having 7mill stuck on your 3rd pair. But Samuelsson can pick up PK Time and help R. Johnson out if he's having a rough game.
