He was at a 64pt pace, his lowest of his career, on one leg. If he's healthy, yes, I think he will score a lot of points for us. Whether he's a 70 pt or 90pt winger is probably the better question, not if he will impact the offense.

His issue is defense. And being a Richardwad of a human.

What percentage of the teams games will he play when he returns?

That surgery has not had promising returns so far.

I think it may come down to how many games he has left of eligibility to go to RCH without clearing waivers. He would certainly get picked up.

Why does that matter?

Crouse would be nice, he would lean more towards a Greenway style power forward which is a welcomed addition, but not the singular solution to the Sabres problem.
- washedup20

He is much better than Greenway, scored 20 goals or more twice, and will give you over 200 hits a year. Greenway can't sniff that.

my guess is he thought stillman, replaced by clifton and greenway was enough

I mean you got punchy cozens if needed

- homiedclown

Cozens was stupid, he went in there all bad thinking Hathaway wouldn't respond. Think Cozens would have done a lot better if he was thinking more straight, he was to slow to the bell.

Thanksgiving is 10 days away.

95% of the playoff teams are set by thanksgiving normally.

Sabres have work to do.

why play short benched on the second of back to back nights when there is still wiggle room

seems like a move to make once tuch is ready to play again

- homiedclown

Not sure unless they really thought Sammy might go down. Rather be short forwards than defense. But it was a head scratcher given the fact Sammy seemed fine.

Crouse is a big fat no thanks. Come up with better fake player adds.

We also have too many forwards in the pipeline

Adams is working on a mitts contract extension as we speak. E5.

Thanks! Now I know Crouse would have been a good add if Adams had any balls a few years back. Crouse is the exact opposite of what we have in are pipeline and would probably be a better fit for what we would need going forward. Yes it won't happen, but it's not because he wouldn't have been a good fit.

Decent read, I took from this that Meatball doesn't trust the youth but the GM is only providing youth as options which explains:

'What the ice time trends show is that Granato is having trouble finding enough forwards that he trusts. Zemgus Girgensons, Tyson Jost and Kyle Okposo have formed a solid fourth line lately, but because of the Sabres’ forward situation, Granato is using them as a third line in terms of minutes played. And that group isn’t generating enough offense to be playing that often.'

and:

"The Sabres are 27th in the NHL with five power-play goals this season. At five-on-five, they have the ninth-most goals and are 17th in expected goals, according to Natural Stat Trick. But getting shut out by the Penguins on Saturday underscored the offensive inconsistency this team is dealing with. After finishing top three in goals last season, the Sabres have been average offensively to start the season. This was the risk Adams ran when he brought back the same forward group from last season unchanged."

Once Tage got taken away on the PP they haven't been able to adjust. They need a Big Murrr type and plant that A$$ in front.
And Granato are trusting 2 out of 3 players, one that can barely still skate and the other who falls down atleast 4 times a game to play more than 7 min a game. Sooner or later you have to trust the kids for the better of the team.

I thought someone had posted that he has like 16 games left of eligibility. So if they want to keep him up, but keep that option open longer into the year (maybe near the TDL), then they need to slow the roll.
