I have a funny feeling that Olo is going to get traded or waived soon. I really see the Sabres using that money for wait for it. Patty Kane.

Would you rather have Olo at 4.5 million riding the pine or Pat Kane for 5-6 million that brings experience and world class scoring to your team? I’ll take the later

Yes I know he is aging but he is 1000000000000 times better then Olo

E. Johnson is not the Rosetta Stone of the improved penalty kill.

Read an article just after the season started and it was talking about EJ. EJ was saying how this team was all offense last year, no D structure and how he and even Clifton came in and had to help build that D structure right way.

EJ has been exactly what this team needs off the ice and his play for 3rd pair guy is fine with me. He seems to be more of the "captain" this year than Okposo.

Is the easy decision to send down R. Johnson ?? That's tough to me after his play. Or to scratch one of EJ, Clifton? Clifton played the final whole minute last night in a 3-2 game if im not mistaken.

Problem is, you're describing a coach, not a player.

If it’s either Kane OR the void, I’ll take Kane. If we’re keeping both I’m not a fan.

I would rather the second but unless a time machine is part of the deal this is highly unlikely.

Respectfully, framing it as olofsson or kane is a good coping mechanism but truthfully these are both terrible ways to spend ~ 5 million dollars.

The problem isn't just his aging, it's that he's coming off the kind of surgery that historically doesn't age well and just very recently forced Backstrom to quit for a year.

I'm thinking about everyone who was mad at the lack of activity this off season and what the reaction will be when a move falls to their lap next summer that they can't do because 86 year old Kane is taking up 5 mil on the cap.

Kane is the appetizer, what are your thoughts on the McDavid trade to Buffalo?

Well I'd hate to lose Novikov in the deal.

Even if Kane only revitalizes the pp, wouldn’t that be as justifiable as signing (and praising) the E Johnson signing?

I still can't believe we permatank to play our first round pick less than 4 minutes this season

If I thought he could revitalize the PP without killing them at 5v5 then yes.

EJ signing shouldn't be getting any praise, but can largely be rationalized by the fact that he is so clearly their 6th (hopefully 7th soon) defender. They signed him knowing full well what he is, it's not a ristolainen situation where he's getting 25 mins or whatever.

That won't be the case with Kane. He may help on the PP, but he'll likely give all of that and more back negatively playing top line minutes at 5v5. I'd actually be super impressed with management if they somehow convinced him to sign playing okposo's role or something like that. But everyone knows that won't be the case.

If that’s the case, and Adams signs him, it’s a hell of an indictment on the fab 5.

Do you think something happened behind the scenes?

Seems like a really unfair move

Plan was always to send him back. They had to dress him for a game cause it's a conditioning stint. It's not a hard rule I think but keeps the league off your back.

risky move

if not for injuries, a player would have been exposed to waivers unless they did a paper move with krebs or levie

if everyone was healthy

Why should the Erik Johnson signing be getting any praise?

Hasn't he been solid on the 3rd pair?

Let's hope he learned enough of what to work onwhile here and in Roch, that his development coach stays close to him, and he recognizes this season s/b all about physical development and the couple specific points his development plan id'd.

Isn't it time for a real move? 2 guys they go to extremes not to play, what's the hold up? They should want those 2 to be claimed.
