You fire Granato. Who you hiring?

It’s like firing McDermott. Who are you hiring to replace him?

NHL obviously is way easier

- Sabretooth9

If I was making the decision- it’s an easy one. I’m talking to Michael Peca. He should have been an assistant on Granato’s staff this season, but I’d be willing to bet GMKA didn’t want to have meatballs looking over his shoulder knowing his possible replacement is in the building. Peca has a passion that the Sabres need, that the fanbase would embrace etc… he was the consummate Buffalo Sabre as a player, team captain and he epitomized the blue collar, hard working Western New Yorker. I would get Peca for these reasons and steal him away from Drury and the Rags

He’s coaching the rangers. How do you plan on stealing him away?

Also I have no clue how you know or can think that. Were you around the team? Do you know him

The same way Edmonton just hired their new coach. It’s not a lateral move. Happens quite frequently if you follow the NHL.
I don’t know Mike Peca personally but I certainly know he was one of the most respected players the Sabres ever had. I’ve been a Sabres fan for almost 50 years and I’m tired of the status quo this organization seems to be stuck in. This season is slipping away quickly. That’s the truth… maybe you don’t see it. Is my proposal a pipe dream? In reality, it probably is. From Sabres ownership, to their tentative GM, to their head coach who can’t seem to find any answers to motivate his players. Something needs to be done, because this isn’t working at all. Wake up and smell the coffee

You will get a Kevyn Adams press conference informing you he is excited to see the youth fill holes from injuries and this is all part of embracing expectations. As a group they will continue to try an improve everyday...and he will remind everyone how much he wants to win.

Wait until next season when they break in the following on ELC's
- Benson (if sent back in '23)
- Savoie
- Kulich
- Johnson (of sent down on '23)
- Rosen?
- Rousek?

Good news is then hopefully the following are gone
-Bryson
-E Johnson
-Okposo
-Girgenson
-Krebs?

And guess what is really exciting...they will still need

Well if he's hired into a higher position, say like HC then it's pretty easy as long as he wants it. I can tell you I have met a few players that were in Rochester with him and they were very disappointed he left. Players listened because he had done it.

They may still need a top end forward too.

For this season, would the following work?

Skinner - Tage - Tuch
Greenway - Mittelstadt - Kane
Peterka - Cozens - Quinn
Zemgus - Krebs/Jost - Okposo

Even if Kane were to sign, by the time Tage and Quinn returned from injury, would the Sabres still be even close to a playoff spot?

Bet Kane took us off his list when Tage went down. As inconsistent as the team was and then lose your 1C for awhile. Wouldn't be surprised if the Black Sharpie crossed us off. Like you have said 39, they need another Tuch or similar player, and they don't have that in the system.
Edit: maybe Wahlberg but he's years away. Josh Bloom might have turned into that.

Then sub Kulich for Kane, but even doing that, Meatballs has to give the lines a real chance of working.

No more 7 minutes a night bullpoop.

Agree, sometimes you just have to trust. And Donnie seems to trust the wrong players.

This is a really good Read! Amazing with the numbers that we are at this point. A lot of blame to be had.

At best this lineup won't all be available at the same time for 2 months, what is the plan for the interim?

The Sabres depth is as deep as a puddle on concrete in 115 degree heat

Until Tage and Quinn return, this is the best I could come up with until then.

The time is now for Krebs to get an extended look outside of the 4th line.

Play him and that line real minutes, and see what you have.

That's a losing lineup, it's simply not good enough for the NHL, it doesn't help development when you lose, specifically in the fashion the Sabres lose.

It also, if it hasn't already destroy any leverage in the trade market.

This front office walked into this situation voluntarily and boasted about embracing expectations, I mean it was so obvious, it's wild.
