What does each staff member under Don actually do?

Head Coach Don Granato
Assistant Coach Mike Bales
Assistant Coach Jason Christie
Assistant Coach Matt Ellis
Assistant Coach Marty Wilford

The coach is blaming the players for not knowing they need to work hard.

This goes back to my comment that this group of high end 1st round picks doesn’t understand that. They have relied on talent their entire hockey careers. They need to see a man, not a prospect, work hard every day, every shift, and hold himself and others accountable. No one in organization brings that (except for Brett Murray).

From the Owner all they way down to the prospects, it’s an easy group to beat.

Only thing Girgensons or E. Johnson should be leading is the Janitorial Service into the Bathrooms to Clean the Stalls
- Buff36

They could make positive changes to the lineup by doing the following:

- Put 2 of Erik Johnson, Girgensons and Okposo in the press box
- When Jokiharju is healthy, the defense pairs should be Dahlin - Ryan Johnson, Power - Jokiharju, Samuelsson - Clifton
- Call up Kulich and Rosen

Erik Johnson, Zemgus and Kyle have aged rapidly, and their play has seriously deteriorated.

I'd try the following:

Skinner-Mittelstadt-Peterka
Greenway-Cozens-Tuch
Kulich-Krebs-Benson
Rosen-Jost-Girgensons

*Okposo/Olofsson rotate in when necessary

Dahlin-R. Johnson
Power-Jokiharju
Samuelsson-Clifton

Send Levi down

Trade one in…

And it’ll never happen….

My tempered optimism from the summer and early season have been replaced by “shame on me” for having expectations for this laughingstock organization. I get to watch the impending train wreck unfold every night this team takes the ice. I’m reduced to actually hoping this poorly crafted roster continues to fail, only so change occurs. I remember years ago when the players on the Buffalo Sabres had pride and urgency to play for themselves and the city of Buffalo… this hasn’t been the case for far too long now. I’m looking at the current roster, and honestly, there are only a handful of players I consider must haves. I also see that the guys we locked up to new contracts are some of the biggest problems. Complacency is a cancer and the Sabres are riddled with it.

Team isn't good enough. Okposo line as PP@ and on the ice, down a goal, with 4 minutes left is plain stupid.

This might sound clown-like, but KA's hideous idea of an offseason was placing unrealistic expectations on a rookie goalie while wasting 13.6m on Okposo, Girgs, Jost, EJ and Clifton. Fukking horrible. 13.6m for a combined 10 points and a -7. Clifton is -7 all by himself, why is he even playing?

Ryan Johnson has been a bright spot. Knew he was gonna fit nicely with his Skating. A little surprised it's been this quick, they could really strengthen there pairs if they would just trust him.

>>> 2 out of 7 games with a GSAx that isn’t negative is not gonna cut it. The small fraction of positive read of carrying 3 goalies was to throw more at the wall and see if 2 stuck. That doesn’t work if you aren’t willing to send down the one who isn’t sticking

Does Adams shut the Nerd Crew out, and Bring them in for 2 weeks at the end of June.

They are too player friendly from top to bottom.

Promises were made to Levi that Adams just will not break.

Being held hostage by a prospect is not good business, but here we are.

Rotate the starts until one of them earns it.
In fact, I would play it period by period...play good in the fist then you get the 2nd, play good in the 2nd you get the 3rd.
Good = .904+ per period.

Same with the D.
Good = <1 HD scoring chance against per period
Edit: per Pair....could even weight it based on TOI.

It's a performance based league. Coach like it....hold them accountable.

If you want your Stud Goalie to turn into that Phenom without a learning Curve. Then you better build a solid overall Team around him to give him the support he needs on the ice. Looks to me they brought back the Titanic and threw it on Levi's lap with hope it doesn't sink.

I'm not going to jump on the rookie goalie. I don't expect him to be great...in fact having him reaching average SV % and xGA would be great to me in his rookie year.
I will jump on the over-use by the Coach and GM.

I will also jump on the mental lapses by the D.

Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson and now R Johnson look like locks on D going forward for several seasons.

E Johnson and Bryson contracts are done at seasons end.
Clifton needs to begin shining or he is a Buyout candidate at seasons end.
Those 3 = $8.4m on the Cap ... less $1.1m for Cliffy Buyout = $7.3m to allocate to a proper upgrade.

Many ways to go, 2 examples are

Dahlin - $7.3m Upgrade
Power - Joker
Sammy - Johnson

Or
Power - Dahlin
$5.5m Upgrade - Joker
Sammy - Johnson

Certainly easier to find a 2nd pairing LhD than 1st Pairing RhD.
Probably the way I would go.

You want to bring in a soon to be 32 year old forward making nearly $5M per against the cap who is a 35 point player?

Are his non-scoresheet plays that good?

I proposed a cap retention for a player the Sabres could use for a couple years

Dahlin R. Johnson
Power Joker
Samuelsson Clifton And if Adams doesn't want to go out of house the need to get Strbak in the system next year.

Calgary would eat $1M per season for the remaining 3 seasons on Coleman's deal?

You're thinking they'd do that just to clear his cap space?
