I mean it's accurate. It's uninspiring, it's totally predictable until Josh/Dahlin play hero.

I don't see a way out of this without a coaching or philosophical change.

Not to mention needing a reliable line of depth, very cool that Quinn and Thompson are missing.

Reasons for victory.

1. Josh Allen got a haircut

2. Zach Wilson

3. Joe Brady

- buffalofan19

I mentioned this earlier. Joe Brady ran a very similar offense to Dorsey week 1 vs the jets.

Josh was dumping it down and it worked

Once Josh tried to go Hollywood and force downfield passes that turned into INTs …. That’s When we lost week 1

Dorsey was using Dabolls playbook lol Josh Allen literally confirmed this in an interview in training camp

I think Granato is a developmental coach and should stay in developmental hockey. He is not an NHL caliber coach.

We let Peca leave and that was a huge mistake imo.

Regardless, we need a real coach, not a dad or a big brother.

They essentially are playing without Quinn, Cozens**, and Tage, while the coach who was praised as a prospect whisperer put this season in the hands of old vets. The only forward showing real growth is Peterka.

On Defense, Dahlin is becoming the man while the rest have flat lined.

Goaltending is embarrassing, UPL has handled it the best at this point.

**Cozens is currently floating in space in the Sombrero galaxy, we have sent a rescue team to retrieve him, timeline for return is undetermined

Quinn will take time to come back to his former self, but my fear now is this.
Let’s assume Okposo, Jost, Girgensons, Olofsson are gone next year
JJ, Benson, Quinn, Savoie, Skinner are all very similar type players. Smaller, skilled, tend to get bodied.
None are suited for a 4th line role really.
Then we have Kulich, who’s a center.
How do we build this thing for next year?
Assumptions are

Tuch/Tage/Skinner
Jj/Cozens/Quinn
Benson?/Mitts/Savoie?

Unless we get a killer 4th line, I don’t think this lineup addresses the issues

I'm not too bent out of shape about Peca. Emotionally I'm mad at it but logistically he's replaceable. One thing I'm sure about is these assistants are more than replaceable.

Just got the new Athletic article on Sabres. Here’s the title

Did the Sabres put too much on Devon Levi too soon?

Benson, Mitts, Kane, probably a decent 3rd line.

I was willing to see how he handled this season. Last year we overachieved and missed the playoffs by 1 point. He kind of shot himself in the foot. It made expectations higher this season.

He is not capable of turning this around, imo. We could only have anticipated regression…

I’m sorry but Dahlin is not a top-10 defenseman in this league. He is top-25 for sure but I just don’t see that killer instinct.

I hated the Cozens extension the second it was signed and he really needs to pull it together.

Krebs is garbage. Our entire defense has the psyche of an abused puppy.

Our goaltending is a joke, but the bigger joke is that Comrie and UPL are so beyond Levi right now they actually look competent.

This GM has failed to address this every single season. He is going to promote the kids and we will watch the plan fail, then insert new GM, with plans to rebuild.

You can argue, if he was tough and talented as a GM, he would've spent the future on supporting Eichel and Skunk over this core. I bet the Sabres would've been better off.

This will trigger, "so you want to Tim Murray the team" or "Those players didn't want to be here" which is moronic. There are endless options to attempt to improve, Adams took a group of top 5 picks and turned it into a group of mid 1st round picks, who both lack a supporting cast and leadership.

Adams in April of 2023 said his plan was to be fearless....then immediately took the safe route and resigned the Larry's

I'm going to give Granato a little credit here.

He's playing 11-7 because he needs Ryan Johnson playing over the smorgasbord of bad players at the bottom third of the roster.

This gives him the ability to use RJ at EV and use those other two dildos on the PK and less on EV.

He's trying to win, I'll give him that. He's not just folding and playing the offseason expected roster. Kevyn has failed to provide a full, capable roster, because he valued leadership over ability.

There are trades for leadership players with actually bottom 6 ability that aren't an absolute drain every single night. Okposo and EJ are done after the season. That's not easy to say, because Kyle has had a major positive impact here, and he's an awesome guy. But he is just not it anymore on the ice.

The teams that rebuilt correctly, put a good supporting cast around their core. The devils sure were not going to piss away Hughes for one example

>>> Just heard @danorlovsky7 on ESPN say the Bills ran motion 18 times yesterday, the most motion they've used all season.

Averaged 7.5 yds/play on those snaps.
