My statement holds true for the 06/07 team as well.

it really doesnt at all to be honest

i have a take: the 06/07 forward group is softer than the current one

didnt matter cuz they were ahead of the game though

im talking about 06/07

gaustad is a nice piece

other than that, whats the toughness? hecht? mair's role doesnt exist in the nhl anymore. peters didnt play in the playoffs

- robz228

If that's the only differences you see between a presidents trophy winning roster and the hypothetical lineup in 2 years composed of players with only potential as the means of measurement, then I don't know what to tell you.

There are significant differences.

You can keep that take, don't think you're going to get many buyers.

I don't think the Sabres make anything easy, even with the best package, a NMC could end it. Action is needed to kick start whatever plan they have now, who is going to be the spark plug for this organization...currently it's not the GM.
- washedup20

As we've said though, and is mathematically unavoidable, we have too many cooks in the kitchen. Savoie, Kulich, Rosen and Benson aren't going to be in the minors for long. There's quite a bit more behind them. Eventually, methinks, even KAs feet will come unstuck from the sand and he'll need to make a move.

well the exercise is of course assuming everyone reaches the potential we assume they will. which more than likely wont be true anyways so whats the point?

its apples to oranges as well, that sabres team beat the league to the new way to play hockey. drop this team in that era with ryan miller and they probably pants the rest of the league too.

Agreed, when his hand is forced he will make a move, does that scenario set him up with any leverage?

yes, and they aren't drawing any either. its a huge problem. then the powerplay sucks which triples down on the problem.

I do not see the chemistry with this team vs those teams

esp on the d pairings and the middle 6

I witnessed an 18 year old get swarmed by 3 opposing players and he somehow came out with the only penalty.

Refs dont like Buffalo.

theres 3 forwards and 1.5d that ruin every puck they touch so its kind of hard to judge chemistry i think
