What Benson did in his draft year, and the fact he’s not only stuck in the NHL at 18 but has driven positive play results, I’d be shocked if he doesn’t end up being a high end top 6 forward.

I’m not one for player comparables but the sky is the limit for him.

- Swedish_Jesus

Adams built the roster to allow a rookie to make the team, compound Quinn's injury, Olo being useless, it was up for grabs.

Benson beat out the rest of the amazing prospects and looks good for the limited minutes he gets.

He would not of made a roster that had expectations of winning.

This doesn't take away his potential, its just reality.

This should be an irrelevant measuring tool. Draft position, any value related to it becomes meaningless the moment the draft is over. It's pure entertainment value.

I don't think Pegula puts more than 5 minutes a month into the Sabres organization.

I think Pominville is the measuring stick. Similar build, look, game.

Except Peterka has looked very fast this season. That dude’s hustle is admirable.

I admit I wasn’t that high on him until the first game this season and I was like ah ok watch out for him…

Nice to be wrong.

As of now, outside of Power, Peterka is Adams best draft pick.

Probably, that's why Adams needs to rub the Bobblehead harder. Maybe the Pegula Genie will reappear. And give him his New set of Knee Pads to go out and hopefully complete a Conversation.

Sabres can put themselves back into the Picture over the next 10gms or they could really find themselves in a hole. Lot of Eastern Conference games in that span.

Sabres sitting 7th in the wild card, the next 10 games:

Washington - 3rd in the Metro
Pegnuins - 4th in the wild card
Devils - 5th in the wild card - I'm going to this game
Rangers - 1st in the Metro - I'm going to this game
Blues - 1st in their wild card division
Hurricanes - 2nd in wild card
Predators - 6th in their wild card division
Red Wings - 3rd in wild card
Bruins - 1st in the Atlantic (and the league)
Canadians - 9th in the wild card

The probability they go ~ 3-7 through this stretch is not out of this realm. Is the goal to maintain .500? That's a tough schedule.

Very much so, this stretch could really propel the Sabres back into the picture or put us in a Deep hole that could be tough to get out off.

Think they did 2 in a row and 3 out of 4, but that's about it. It's gonna be a tough go, they really need to get there sh!t together. And that's just not the players on the Ice to. GM and the Coaches could help a lot more to.

Last season, Buffalo was 7-11 after the 18 games(compared to 8-9-1 this season), due to the horrendous 8 game losing streak.

They went 5-3-2 over the next 10.

It's at that point that they went on a run of 6 wins in a row, and 8 of 9, to propel them to a 20-15-2 record after 37 games.

Do they have an 8-1 nine game stretch in them?

Likely not until the injured players return?

They also need to start being more ruthless with their lineup decisions game to game.

I've got them at 14 forwards if they keep Benson, sign Kane, and the rest are healthy.

Key decisions would need to be made.

- Waive Olofsson?
- Waive Bryson?
- Waive/Send a goaltender to Rochester?
- Play Greenway on the 4th line?
- If they keep 3 goaltenders, will they waive Jost?

>>> Tage, Skinner, Tuch, Cozens, Peterka, Quinn, Mittelstadt, Benson, Kane, Krebs, Greenway, Zemgus, Okposo, Jost

- kingcong39

All of this.
It’s not as complicated as some experts claim.
If someone scoops Bryson or Olofsson off waivers, that’s a bonus. Shed the salary

A 5-3-2 run would help, but they would have to keep that going. We can’t seem to put 2 good games together though, so it’s going to take a major shift in effort, drive, correct utilization of the roster to get some winning going

Laine? Seems like Columbus might try and move him per NHL radio.

It's gonna be tough, but they have to find away to atleast stay relevant over this span. Cause if they don't it might not matter when the injured player's return.

I think they tried to move Laine to center this season, resulting in the situation he is in. He would be a great addition:

Tuch/Tage/Laine - This opens up Tage's ability to shoot again because you cannot ignore Laine

Skinner/Cozens/Kane - I love this line actually, if Cozens ever turns it around, well balanced, i would describe this line as tenacious

JJ/Mitts/Quinn - Good, needs work to round out the 200' game but an offensive threat
