He blew some real good chances today. Maybe that is why Barzal looked uninterested.

I think it's time to put Wally with Nelson for a while and move Palms to the 3rd line.

This team couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. The number of missed nets tonight has to be in double digits

Sorokin deserved better. He stole that point last night.

Bo and Barzal could be better and so can Lou. At least he came out of the basement and spoke.

Yes, however he did kind of back off from being overly critical of both of them. If you listen to the interview he makes it clear at the end that he is not being critical.

I am a fan of Horvat but he sucked azz last night. Several opportunities to finish and he came up empty.

Lou can be critical all he wants on Barzal and Bo. Both players are highly paid and do need to be better. Lou needs to take more responsibility though. He traded for Bo and kept mostly the same roster for a couple of years.

Gauthier is another player who missed good chances. He can skate but he has lousy hands.

Barzal has sucked the last 2 games after being on fire the previous few games.

Fire Lou!

How on earth did this not warrant a suspension?

7, when you getting paid like a point per game player, people especially fans are going to be critical of their play. Furthermore, when a player EXPECTS to be paid like a point per game player, even more of the reason to be critical when they are not.

Barzal and Horvat had the games on their stick last and they blew it. You can say fire Lou !!! are that we are all wrong for being critical.

However, I see that it is deserved. It is the reason Barzal is not consider a game changer by many. He fails to put the team on his back when the team needs it. Do not get my wrong, Barzal is very good but not the corner stone of a franchise.

I watched this kid play on the Jr. Islanders. Could be a good depth pick up for Bridgeport.

I saw people claiming that a second angle shows he was just off-balance and was swinging his stick as part of an effort to regain it. I've seen the second angle and, yeah, it doesn't show that.

Fair or not, much will be expected of Barzal, Bo, and Sorokin. The issue is not so much them, but the team around them is not good enough and we are not allowed to get on Lou. We need to blame taxes, the Rangers, and the Cap. Barzal and Bo are not superstar type players though. Most of these players are not worth their contracts. Barzal is a pass first player who needs his wings to finish the plays he makes. So far, Horvat is not the big scorer as expected. Islanders need to bring in shooters for Barzal. Another center like Bo was not needed. A wing like Cat was needed.

I Always bust on Barzal when he’s not playing his game. Certainly not a Barzal homer.
My problem with Barzal is consistency. He will play 3 or 4 games and dominate and then have 3 or 4 where he just doesn’t have the same drive and also turns over the puck constantly. He can be a game changer and has the skill to be one. That’s what is so frustrating. It certainly isn’t effort because he wants to win and be that guy. I just don’t know what is causing the inconsistency. Could be just trying to hard and forcing things.
Again easier from the couch but it is frustrating.
No problem being critical about Lou. Everybody has their opinion. I like what he’s done for the organization up til now. Every GM has their run and L and M need to make the decision when that run is over and find someone new to take over when his is done. I would give him until the end of this year. If they don’t make the POs then bye bye. I also wouldn’t be shocked if he retires this year even if they make the POs. Then you have Jr at the helm me thinks. That will make for interesting posts
For me Lou, basically called out Barzy and Bo. Said they need to be better. I agree with him. He did it diplomatically. I don’t agree with him about Lane and that could be his downfall imo.

Cats numbers GP-20, G-12, A-8, Pts-20 would look good for sure. However, I think he really wanted Detroit.

All solid points. Do not think Lou's son is a good candidate. I think if Lou goes so should he and let the team have a fresh start. Clean the slate.

Also, if you are going to give Lou to the end of the year. You should do the same with Lane. Your new GM will want to put his guys in place.

Nah, not a fan of Lane. Team D sucks, PK sucks and they don’t even hit as much as they did last year. Said it 100 times. The team has lost its identity and discipline and I blame that on Lane. That said I think you could be right and he will be behind the bench for the rest of the year.
