No effort by the PP guys to get back on that shorty. They've quit on this coach.

I agree.

Again, you would expect a huge response game from the Islanders after the sh!t show in Nashville and they played an absolutely effortless, dismal game.

So a teams response after a bad loss can tell you a lot. This one speaks volumes.
Fire this clown already!

Do you think Lou stays up and watches??? I think he catches the 5 minute rewind in the morning.

I think he’s in Mn. I was told that but who knows. Hopefully he’s talking with Evason about a job.🙏🏻
I would Galant Lambert and leave him at Ecel Energy Center.

And now they get to play the best team in the league on the second night of a back to back.

Wouldn't shock me if they win that one because that's just how baffling this team is.

Wouldn't shock me if they win that one so Lou doesn’t fire Lambert.

Skill set a side. You have to repeatedly ask yourself how such a veteran laden team continue to make so many mental mistakes. Why can they not hold leads?

I get that they are older and slower, however that does not mean that positionally they cannot or should not be in the right place.

I am ready to move on from Lane. He may be good at No.2, but he is horrible at No.1.

Not even sure it's the coach at this point. Certainly, worth a shot. This roster has too many underperforming (and slow) players. Not sure a new coach would have that much of an impact. But fuk it, might as well try something.

It’s a combination of things imo. The team isn’t that great and the coach sucks. If they get another coach I’m sure it’ll give them a shot in the arm and they’ll get some wins but the real problem will remain. They aren’t that great of a team…. That issue of course rests squarely on Lou’s shoulders but he will fire the coach to take the heat off himself but yeah fire lambert. Shocked he has stuck with him this long.

That whole game was a #2. I turned it off in the middle of the second, wasn't worth the stress.

I'm going to change my way of thinking for games. I always hope, think they will win. Now I'm gonna start going into each game like I did in the dark days when I knew they would lose. This way if they win it will feel better as long as I don't start thinking positive again. I mean it use to be almost fun in the dark years , knowing they would lose, just wondering how they would do it. These last two games definitely fit the bill.

Although he has one final hurdle to clear with the morning skate and how he feels after, I’m expecting LW Kyle Connor to play for #NHLJets tonight vs #Isles in what will be his first game since suffering a knee injury vs #Ducks on Dec. 10.

A virtual lock to score two or more goals tonight

I feel like part of the the Isles 'advanced analytics' should involve focusing on any player searching for their first goal of the season/career.

I can see them winning tonight just because that would be so islanders but you have to think if they have another performance like last night Lambert will get the ax.

They definitely weren't firing him in between back-to-backs. Tough to say what happens if they lose tonight. WPG is on an absolute heater and the best team in the NHL currently. I can stomach a loss to them, in and of itself, but given how they've played lately and how badly they need a win...if they lose and it's another dog poop effort then I can definitely see Lambert being shown the door.

I would think at this point lou has someone lined up ready to take the reigns. Either that or he’s inexplicably committed to lambert which would be completely out of character for him.

Certainly possible. There are good candidates out there in Evason/Woodcroft/Berube and who knows who else could be a possibility.

At least we get a little bit of a break tonight:
