Yeah don’t get me wrong it’s been impressive how they’ve managed to maintain a playoff position up to this point missing three defenseman two of which being their best and one who sucks balls in mayfield. With that said they still are what they are imo.

Great trade he ads a shot on pp usually good on draws and can skate and play with barzal. He's a long term sign too so they can continue to build around him. If we got him in the offseason it would have been the best offseason move in the league. Lou did a sign and trade as he usually does
- Upstate_isles

At this point I agree with you and ses. 😂

The question is will we be able to add to the lineup to be a true competitor while Horvat is in his prime? He’s in his prime right now.

If they could find a way to stop the bleeding defensively they'd be in a great position. Firing Mayfield into lower-earth orbit with Elon's next array of Starlink satellites would be a good start.

I meant I would have liked a Bo type player during Barry’s time and the two ECF runs.

This is the question. It was not that Bo is not a good player.

😆

Yeah it’s like we can’t have both decent defense with good offense. Funny thing is this team started performing better when we lost Pelech, Mayfield, and Pulock. We were more of a defensive sieve when they were in the lineup I believe. Reilly and Bortuzzo fit right in. Not that we were the Devils of the 90’s but were doing enough to win a bunch of games. Interested to see how we look with Pelech back and whether he’ll need a while to get back on track…

Feels like Bortuzzo is probably going to miss some significant time after that injury last night, so that'll at least clear the roster spot for Pelech. He's been showing some warts here and there lately too, he's probably best utilized as a 7th defenseman when healthy.

Yeah and that’s exactly what he’ll be utilized as when/if everyone is healthy. How I look at both him and or Reilly is depth adds for the playoffs if we make it #1 and can find a way to keep them with the cap.

Assuming Varlamov re aggravated his prior injury. Hopefully he’s not out for long. Next back to back is in a couple of weeks.

*Pelech cycled in, Fasching cycled in on 4th line/extra d-pair with Pelech

Sorokin
Appleby

I don't understand where/how the 'accountability' part is determined here. Engvall was given a seat due to bad performance. Aho next. Now Fasching, who hasn't been that bad. Meanwhile Clusterfuk stays in.

It takes a lot to sit 4th line players. Holmstrom has looked good on the 3rd line, but it would be interesting to see Holmstrom on the Nelson line. Pierre is just not a 2nd line player.

Holmstrom has played so well with Pageau that I don't think you can move him off that line

Which is also helping Pageau who was invisible for the beginning of the season. I’m sure he’ll get his shot on another line if/when that line cools off.

Our 7-year man Pierre cannot help Pageau?
