I didn’t mean that Sorokin took the game away from them but the team did when they scored 3 goals in the third. Maybe a “they” after the “and” would’ve been more appropriate. Why anyone would give a (frank)ing rats arse either way is hysterical. This thread has become a giant steaming turd.

I’m no top grade Internet GM but they are at a cap hit of $97M with ~ 13.5M of ~$14M in LTIR relief being used. So for me there is no way they can sign him without clearing cap space.

Yeah I mean you would think a D man and goalie is more important than Nylander.
If they do want to sign him they couldn’t do it this year but as you said they have some wiggle room after this season but they have more important pieces to sign vs him. Just my opinion of course.

I’m to lazy to see what else they have coming off the books but you also have to factor the cap going up next year which should be around 4 million. It won’t be enough to absorb all of it of course but it’ll help. They are saying it’s possible it may go up another 4 million the following year(when Tavares may be coming off the books…). Probably have figured out a way to shed some more salary in addition I would think if the plan is to actually resign him. Guy has proved to be a great player but for a top heavy team they should be investing that money some place else imo.

Engvall with two golden opportunities and flubs them both.
