Faber, as a defenseman has played 43 games, scored 21 points and is +4.

Benson, 34gp, 14 points, -1.

With the forward heavy prospect pipeline, Faber would a better fit for the Sabres. He played with R. Johnson at Minnesota. The Sabres need a top 4 dman.

I don’t understand how some see a career player that the Sabres can never let go there.

- washedup20

Faber also wasn’t signing his ELC with the Kings, important to note.

Everyone knew the kid was a star, Kings had 3 years to sign him and couldn’t put pen to paper

Not having any linebackers is going to be scary. Their best weapons are Kelce and Pacheco and both thrive in the middle of the field.

Impressive LA turned that into a core player with immediate positive impact.

I can’t believe the organization didn’t fold for sacrificing potential.

I mean they gave up Villardi for a broken PLD and bent themselves over but nonetheless.

What could have been

I don’t see a connection between those 2 separate deals but ok.

The connection between sacrificing potential for a supposed core player ?

Villardi is already the best player in the deal

This list will change like they always do. But possible Top pair D man especially RD don't come along to often. Sabres missed on a few on that list. But nice to see Strbak on there already.

I still dont see a correlation.

The Kings have moved out multiple high potential prospects over the past decade.

It's resulted in Stanley Cups, a few years of bad hockey, and now contention again.

Meanwhile the Sabres (and some of us) shiver at the thought of a trade maybe not working out.

We're a scared bunch

I see what you’re saying, yes that one wasn’t great, but both teams are in a playoff spot. So I wouldn’t say it was bad.

Moving Villardi, a cheaper and younger player for PLD, will have bigger ramifications than some realize.

If Timo Meier doesn’t figure his crap out, New Jersey is franked with that long term deal.

Ottawa moving the sun and the stars the last few off seasons instead of just making their picks has franked them.

Making the wrong trade, sets your franchise further back than anything else.

Does that mean I am advocating for Adams to do nothing at all ? No.

But it’s not as simple as just packaging prospects and picks and throwing poop at the wall to see if it sticks.

So we just forget about the bigger picture?

PLD has another 7 years there making big $$$$$.

The LA Kings will still exist after the 2023/2024 season and will be subject to the same salary cap constraints as everyone else

They have 23 mill in space next year, 30 something the year after. Think they will worry about it when the Time comes.

Slafkovsky at 20 makes that list irrelevant.

Not sure if anyone's watched him play but he stinks

In the year 2050? No, no moves projected just yet
In fact, no moves to be made from now until 2050.
