Have to see where Power gets to, but the trajectory is certainly down. Toews is a monster, agreed, but hopefully we can coach these kids up...one day.

Helps to have the Right Partner for that to.

Yeah, I think that's really part of the issue. RyJo is a rookie and making the best go of it IMO, but Joker, Clifton and EJ are simply not it. I had hopes for Joker too after he started the year off strong. Unfortunately he's a 6 or 7 on a good team.

Jokers a solid 3rd pairing guy, said it last year.

KA aimed to low with his free agent signings. We already had decent 3rd pairing guys playing up in the lineup.

He needs to find Dahlin a real franking partner. Guy cannot be learning on the fly from Erik franking Johnson and playing with Jacob Bryson. He needs his Devon Towes.

Sabres over the last decade haven't brought in good Mentors or Leadership for any of there good young players. I think they failed Dahlin, he's a good Hockey player. With the right Mentor and Partner to start and guide him in the beginning of his career I think he would have been twice the player he is know. Think there doing the same to Power and Levi. They need there Trouba for a couple years until Ryan Johnson is fully ready to take his spot.

I don't know, I really don't care if guys have leadership, I care if they can play at this point. I'd take Rasmus Andersson even if he was silent in the locker-room. This fixation on vet leadership, to me, is severely overblown. Has Dahlin's play improved after hearing from Eric Johnson, who for all intents and purposes is a leadership guy? If the answer is no, maybe we slide away from bringing in leadership and start expecting it from the guys who are already here?

Tuch, Tage, Cozens, Dahlin and Skinner should be able to lead at this point.

we also have not seen Dahlin make his partner look better on the ice

When Orr played in his prime he played with guys like Dallas Smith, Don Awrey and Gary Doak

Right now, absolutely. Last year's version of him was considerably better though, so I think it's safe to say he's got the talent to improve.

In the next 3 years Levi will be a top 3 goalie in the league.

He has all the tools and most importantly he tracks the puck very well and his reflexes are off the charts. He also has a Hasek like work ethic. These are things you can't teach.

His positioning needs some work as we saw last night and rebound control needs a bit of work.

Mark this post. He has the qualities to be the best in the league.

None of those guys proved to be the leaders that the Eichels, reinharts, Ristos, Dhalin's needed.

None of them besides Ror provided quality play and even he was not the leader he was even just a year after he left here.

gionta was a cup winner and a former captain - 15 years prior on a juggernaut

No one said leaders weren't brought in. They just weren't the right guys for the job.

We needed Ror without the mangina.

We needed leaders who could actually step up and provide not just direct players.

They weren't good leaders but alright.

If they were good leaders why couldn't any of them LEAD this team to the playoffs? Couldnt even squeak in once.

Teams had the talent, the personell, the goalie play to get a 7/8 wild card spot. But not a guy who would lead by exampple. All to old or to immature.

The Sabres rely on high draft picks talent…these past 13 years has exposed that to not work. Adams is going to continue this trend until it’s burned to ashes…and they start over.

Compete is not a trait they scout.

I don't consider some of that good leadership, especially at the times of there Careers. And Okposo and SirFallsAlot were already here for some of those.
