Chandler Stephenson at only a $4M cap hit?

That seems farfetched.

- kingcong39

He's having a down year compared to last 2. On a stacked team averaging 60 points over this season and previous 2...so Mitts contract...5x$6.25?

Sounds like Owen Tippett extension will be eight years, between $6M-$6.5M AAV

https://x.com/FriedgeHNIC.../1750902945565048835?s=20

Sounds like Owen Tippett's new extension with #Flyers is 8 years x $6.2 million = $49.6 million. #LetsGoFlyers

we are still 9 points out of the standings with 1 game left to play this month

looks like we will not be 4 to 6 points out of a playoff spot at the end of the month

I am shocked

He's also almost 5yrs older than Mittelstadt and is playing like he did before he went to that stacked Team.

So who goes? We can't sign everyone.

Skinner isn't moving. Tage/Cozens aren't either. Do you try to trade Tuch in the offseason knowing you probably can't afford to resign him? Let Greenway walk? Pay to unload Clifton?

Looking at the numbers, we can make it a year or two, but it's going to be crunch time real soon.

That's a terrifying deal for the Sabres. Short term with Mitts and longer with every recent pick. They've already committed so much that they have to bridge pretty much everyone and decide after.

Yeah, I'm worried about it. It's why I would try to entice Skinner to let us move him, but I get that's a pipe dream. Many, many bridges, for sure.

Sad, I really think he could help change things around if he was given time and a position of authority (C).

Tuch better not be going anywhere.

Skinner
Samuelsson
Clifton
1 of Mitts/Cozens

All can go before him.

Quinn, JJ, RJ, and Levi are all eligible for early deals this summer. Can't fathom KA would continue his trend of early long term deals. Wait a year, 2/3 year bridges for everyone. Skinner is gone before those are over. I don't think that's a big problem.

Where I do think it's a big problem is making moves. I still assume this is a budget team. Like we just saw, knowing they are going to have to pay guys in a few years greatly limits what they are willing to do leading up to that.

he has been here over 2 years and nothing has changed with the team as far as chemistry, effort, or grit so far

I doubt a letter on one player changes that
