Quinn will sign for that. JJ will not and should not. He a much better and more proven NHL’er

Why would Quinn sign that?

He's producing at the same rate as Peterka.

They still have the remainder of this season and the entire next season to go.

I don't see either signing at $3M unless their production drops.

This is very flawed logic. Producing at the same same rate for a very small sample size,
with a short career riddled with injuries is not even remotely close to the same as proving yourself over 2 good seasons like JJ.
Plus, JJ is a 10x better skater. If it came down to choosing one of them, I’d take JJ in a second

Both have more than a season to go before needing a new deal.

Quinn could easily outproduce Peterka by the end of next season.

My point was to show that both are producing at a rate in their second seasons that exceeds the $3M comparables mentioned.

Want to take a guess at how many games Peterka and Quinn played last season?

If you have better comps, please share.

Obviously they are in an awkward position being somewhat overextended already and having so many recent 1sts. Benson may be the best of the 3 and is already challenging for ice time. There's limits here that they are rapidly approaching.

Needing to pay goalies doesn't come up much, but it's a big part of the short/mid term future as well.

Zegras is a closer comp than any of those you mentioned, factoring in current production and potential, IMO.

You know there's some big difference though. More production, a C, perception, and popularity. Hard to point to him without even a 2nd name.

Alex Jones got filthy rich on water filters and cleanse juice. He's a grade A POS but he knew there was a lot of money to be made from the dumb and gullible.

Was rich until he got sued. But ya. There are a lot of stupid people out there who think they are smart.
