Vegas starting to find their legs again, Rangers now faltering. 82 games is a long season. |

[quote=boonerbuck]How does he not compare to Miller? Millers better at some things... he has 2 whole points more and Petey finished with more points last season. Miller has better face off numbers but Petey is better defensively. Better possession numbers... better g/a and tk/a numbers. They play basically the same minutes. Petey is a better goal scorer... Petey is clearly a safer more well rounded player. Miller plays a better PF game.
With all their differences, at the end of they day ones not much better than the other. Just different... and inly in the present.

Even in his rookie year, Petey was good for a month and a half and hung on for the rest of the season to eke out a Calder win. This season they got two good weeks out of him so far. You just can't pay a guy 12m/yr who only plays half of a season - sxqhfeh
Ya but he’s just entering his prime & he has to do better. Miller is 30 now & getting better. 8/18m cuz no way a player doesn’t get better in their prime. Steal of a contract as the cap increases & the cap hit % drops. No cups so what pay him anyways. |

I doubt it, he will get pancaked in the playoffs, and the points he gets in the regular season are worth NOTHING because he will not be worth anything after he gets turned into a board decal, and until this team moves Petey to a new address, the Vancouver Canucks will not be a legitimate Stanley Cup contender. , to placate money grubbing ownership and gullible fans who foolishly believe this 165 lb can last more than one week in the playoffs. - sxqhfeh
Petey is already a ppg+ in the playoffs. Better than Miller who you keep bringing into the discussion. Petey, Bo, Demko and Hughes all stood out better than Miller who was in the middle of his prime in their playoffs together.
I'm not worried. Petey is clutch. Has the most gwg on a 1st oa team right now. All this downplaying has already been crushed today. You can backread it all and save yourself time on that typewriter.

Just luv watching Crosby. The guy is simply a marvel at 36. Doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. |

There isn’t a team in the league that won’t take Miller for 8m a year as a 1 power C. Only be behind McD as 1B+++ |

But it won't happen, they won't remove him, unless he asks too much, Petey is on pace to take a pay CUT if he keeps on the way he has the past month. If he still asks (rumor said 12.5m?) too much they will have no choice to trade him - sxqhfeh
He can't take a pay cut. His qualifier is 8.5m. All the facts and details you are unaware of have been posted already. Backreading will help your credibility. Just some friendly advice.

I’d pay Petey 12m if he had Nylander’s puck handling & speed. |

Hughes & Miller drive the PP. Petey hangs out on the 1/2 wall static doesn’t do much. One timer or a whiff or back to Hughes. |

How long into his upcoming prime years will it take Petey to pass Miller in PPG as a Canuck? |

Yes, he had a good time on that Lotto line, his inability to drive a line as a 2C was why they created the Lotto line and tried to get him going - sxqhfeh
But but but it was his wingers dragging him down. Pay the man 12m+ |

Disputes arise from people's uncertainty about things. When faced with the facts, there will be no disputes. Therefore, both parties in the dispute have at least one thing in common, that is, what they are disputing is an uncertain matter. Speaking of Pettersson, we aren’t quite sure if he’s good or not, otherwise, there will be no augments, that's probably the truth. Pettersson was that yogurt in the fridge that smells ok but expired a week ago; you aren’t quite sure if it’s good or not. But we don't eat the expired food in our fridge, it's garbage, we don't want to gamble and risk our health on that, its not worth it, don’t we? Nobody is sure who he is, the management wants to "wait and see" who he is, the coaching staff are not quite sure where they should put him, even himself is not quite sure what he wants to be, still can't figure out what stick he wants to use. the point is when Canucks sign a huge contract, they just can't afford to put huge money and terms on this guy and gamble with their future, that will be a huge mistake. - sxqhfeh
In my opinion you are wrong, Pettersson knows exactly who he is and what talent he has. Tocchet knows who he is and what his talent is, Alvin knows who he is and what his talent is.
There are people that have been harping on players for years, Crosby (Cindy), Sedins (sisters), McDavid (McCrybaby, Mcwienerhead)
I agree with both sides of the conversation today, if Pettersson next contract demand will be detrimental to signing other players he will be traded. If he and Allvin work out a contract extension great. But everyone knows what Pettersson talent is. Even Reuby and his Pouty schtick.

No, should have urged Canucks to sign him the Matthews or McDavid salary at 15.5m a season, then he will be for sure playing better, lol |

Disputes arise from people's uncertainty about things, If they were sure, they would have signed him a long time ago no matter what it costs, if he is McD there will be no arguments |

And, I wasn't saying Petey might be garbage, I was saying he may not be as good as some people think he is, right now, he can't even compare to JTM, He was playing as 2c not 1c in this team.JT Miller is the great power forward in the NHL and I dare say the poor lad is underpaid. This team would be dirt without the two great American players JT Miller and Quinn Hughes. Can you imagine this team being led by fall down hoping for a fake penalty, turning over the puck, and losing the game Petey? - sxqhfeh
And to me this is it, you don't like Pettersson and make exaggerated statements that make him out as an inferior player.
This is a team, not sure you understand that concept, but this is a team buying into the team concept where every player plays for one another. |

If Toc says not good enough then it’s not good enough. So sure go out & pay him cuz just going into his prime & we all know it always gets better. |
