You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. Doesn't make it worth more. People are buying Lindholm and what he is now, not what he was 2.5 years ago with Johnny and Turtle on his wings.

Interested to hear what a closet Flames fan like you suggests we will get for Lindy?

Would Calgary do this trade?

Hanafin and Lindholm (one of them 50%-we wouldn’t need both)

For

-Keandre Miiller
(Top 4 LHD- young, but raw)

-‘25 or ‘26 first rder OR Brett Berard OR Adam Sykora (probably our 2 best B prospects)

-Adam Edstrom
(huge center. More of a project)

-conditional 2nd rd pick in ‘24
(becomes a first w/ECF appearance)
———-
It would be contingent on either one re-signing. I’d prefer Hanafin probably

Just figured I’d run it by you being so bored!! Curious if they’d want the best piece to be a LHD?

With his lack of (frank)s given, I am thinking a Sign and Trade a la Tkachuk is not happening.
- DuranDuran

Sign and trades will never happen for players who aren't RFAs.

There's a reason Tkachuk's was the first in league history.

Y’all made me have to sign back into this accursed site.

There is absolutely 0% chance you’re getting Byram or K. Miller for Lindholm. Both are already better players.

Lindholm is a declining asset having a pretty rough couple seasons. He is a bounce back gamble, not a hot ticket.

Doesn’t seem like the cap works out on most of those. Kind of doubt they get a blue chip and a first for him.

Most of them don't make much sense. Like Boston probably doesn't have any interest in trading Frederic and Poitras for Lindholm, let alone trading away yet another first-round pick.

Most of the deals in the Athletic are closer to what teams would give up if Stamkos was available.

Thank you and agreed. Some teams fans grossly overvalue their players. Happens with EVERY team.

Agreed. Thank you for thinking realistically. I understand some people may overvalue their own players. But most of those proposals are for Lindholm 2 years ago, not what he is producing now. He's an extremely useful player, but is he more useful than 2 very useful players/pieces now and a VERY useful chip going forward?

He should get a little more than what Arrteri Lehkonen got. A good to not great but NHL worthy prospect, and a good pick. So up that a touch. I'd say a better prospect and a better pick. But neither need to be elite. A teams late 1st and one of their better but not top prospects unless their pool is barren.

As the Flames 1C he is roughly .66ppg, and has really good other stats that would make him an optimal 3c/2w for playoffs with ability to command 2c on almost any team if an injury happens. I dont think he's an upgrade for many on 2C and definately not a 1C on any contender with his play the last 2 seasons.

Bad player? No. Elite? No.

During regular season the last 2 seasons, He's a fine 2C. With periods of 1C and periods of 3c too. He's a rider not a driver of play that can help supportivly on D.

But not worthy of 3 top to elite pieces in a trade. Especially considering his reported extension asks.
