Gotcha... Yeah, both those players are class acts and deserve better. Dahlin especially.
He is absolutely incredible. Poor kid has way more on his plate than any other D-man in the league game after game. Sabres need a paradigm shift in a handful of roster spots and philosophy come October 2024.

- JYD

How much better would Dahlin be at this point if he had a proper D partner and coaching when he came here. There doing the same thing to Power by not getting him the right Mentor.

Can't disagree with any of that as well as how he is being developed like you said.
Granado... being ok with Power being a rover like it's a beer league game is absolutely mind boggling. But even without that. Being that big and not controlling the front of his own net... Is extremely concerning. As concerning as a lot of the bad habits Granato has no issue with him repeating game after game. If I hear Don characterize another lackluster loss as "a good learning experience that we'll grow from"....
Put it this way. This will be the first year living in Buffalo that I won't see a game live in the arena. This organization makes me sick to my stomach.

Yeah, I used to go to a lot of games, haven't been down there for a Hockey Game in probably 3 years. I think Adams is holding this team back, he has missed his signal atleast 3 times to adjust and improve his lineup. You can't build a Hockey Team in the NHL from all draft picks. It takes to long to develop and know what you have in them. Adams plan is failing and he doesn't seem to know how to divert from it.

They seem to have become a slave to their plan, which has caused an inability to deviate from it.

With how often things change, that cannot happen.

For Dahlin's game to be where it is, is a testament to how incredible he is / will be considering the managerial mess from coaching on up since he was drafted. Along with, yes, a complimentary partner. Adams and Granado have failed Power big time. One can only hope Power has the mental toughness to get through this like Dahlin has / continues to have.

Here's my Hockey Take For Dummies Like Me!
I believe Adams is holding this team back more than Coaching. Don't get me wrong Coaching has some huge Questions to it. Namely ME and Wilford. But Adams indesivness on roster moves and proper Team Building are killing us more. He needs to adjust his course or it could be a while.

the only reason the sabres would be looking at a goalie with term is if they did not plan on signing 6k for more than a year or no confidence in levi

Agreed if it is a starter, but suitable backup would be different IMO.
Let Levy play in the AHL for another season while UPL continues to develop his game in the NHL to find that consistency needed...and have a reliable back-up for him.

Edit, a guy with 1 yr left would be ideal, maybe 2 yr term left could work as insurance if Levi still needed more time than just next season...if Levi is ready, then you have a trade commodity in the 2025 off season.

Are they planning on having Levi locked in Roch next season? Seems like an awfully big reversal. They were willing to risk their season on this kid.

Vladar makes sense. He's been rumored in the past and I'm sure Calgary thinks their phenom is ready to make the jump full time.

It’s sad to say and admit, but any winning now until the deadline/end of the year hurts is more than helps us. I don’t want this coach and GM to have and ammunition to try and keep this poop show intact

Sucks doesn't it? Hate to think they are trying to find a reason to keep Donnie when there's been 10 this season to fire him already.

“In our eyes, Casey Mittelstadt from the Buffalo Sabres is a legit TOP6 center. If the Sabres are really shopping Mittelstadt, there are definitely some teams who should try to acquire him.”
