Most of the dead weight has to be gone this summer, doesn't it?

Will they fire Donnie? Probably not. Will they guilt him into some assistant changes? Maybe.

If they both know it's their last chance, maybe it lights a fire. KA is already talking differently. Donnie seems lost.

How do we know Adams is talking differently?

Agree 100%
Speed, defense, PP, toughness, compete, scoring, 1b goaltending, loser culture, terrible coaching, terrible management

How is this going to magically get fix with a couple minor tweaks this deadline and summer?

- lulags

They ain’t…the bolded will continue to be ignored and until it’s addressed, the team is irrelevant.

No, Ellis is Adams guy. There is no guilt in that organization, only learning experiences.

You don't think 32 Thoughts and these other rumors are intentionally leaked?

Potentially moving a prospect is huge shift for him.

Think optics demand you do something to look like you're trying to make PP changes. Donnie saying he was finally going to get involved sure didn't work.

Give him another job, if you have to.

2 out of 4 years under Adams have been at this level, he is comfortable here.

Harrington brought up what you did in his article today.

>>> Ticket sales, merchandise and concession sales and local television ratings are all going to take a massive hit. In the wake of all that, should we worry about what kind of internal salary cap owner Terry Pegula might impose on General Manager Kevyn Adams for next season?

(Memo to the owner: You already promised a new Jumbotron for next season. You better not renege. There has to be something to look forward to.)

Is the TV deal up soon? Believe it is and that'll be a hit.

I think there's many reasons to be concerned about their spending and every reason to think there's a limit on what they'll commit long term on salaries.

The players should be embarrassed and instead of saying he's out of answers maybe the coach should embarass them once. He should have been fired by Thanksgiving I cant say it enough times but at this point it doesn't matter

Adams needs to sell what he can and make an impact hockey trade. There is no saving the season anymore its over

- ieetbred

I wish we could gave a torts like coach for 1 year to set them straight.

And I think we have the talent just lack of heart and effort and lack of compete.

That is on the coach for not preparing them

They would be smart to get out from MSG. That channel is hard to find outside of having local cable and it’s expensive for just using the app

Build a Buffalo channel like Empire. It worked in the past.

You already have 2 shows. The Bills and Sabres daily shows. Fill in a Sabres replay od the previous nights game

I don’t know. Plenty of other stuff they could do

Devils went from picking third overall to making the playoffs last year.

Vancouver went from finishing 22nd overall last year to potentially winning the West this season.

I don’t think anyone had Philly doing what they are doing so far on their bingo card either.

Buffalo is a quick fix away, the problem is turning conversations into moves

- Swedish_Jesus

The problem is weak / inexperienced coaching, weak inexperienced Front office and a weak inexperienced President/Owner

Make all the roster changes you want, this team doesn’t have the skill behind the bench, at the top of the front office or in the owners suite to ever win.

We will be nothing more than a bottom 10 team until pegs sells or hands the conversations to someone who knows the game

It's public smokescreen bullpoop.

Intentionally leaked to make it seem like he's urgently trying to do something as cover for when the deadline passes and he does nothing of substance, so he can say at the press conference that nothing came together, but he'll try again in the offseason?

Yes to the above.

Not sure the economics of a regional sports channel work anymore. Have a number of them crashed and burned recently?

Two options, expand the region to include other markets, like a rust belt network and try to get a couple of the smaller markets together.

Or find a way to embrace a steaming network.

RSN is a non-starter. Big markets with a strong variety of teams are going bankrupt.

The region is dominated by bigger markets. They stand no chance on their own. Not to mention cable is dying. Pegulas considered RSN when they took over and didn't think it was viable. Good decision. It's far worse today.

Streaming seems inevitable.

Agreed that one part was a smokescreen. I think the prospect and Mitts parts were real.

buffalo has local sports from pretty much 6am til 10 pm on the radio, right?

they could make it work again with minimal coverage of mlb and nba to go with the nhl and nfl on tv

I think if Pegula was going to do it, it would have happened when he bought the bills so that ship has probably sailed

My Buddy said he was trying to get multiple pieces. Would the Sabres go Big and try and get Swayman or Ullmark and Lohrei from Boston.
- Buff36

No doubt Boston needs scoring.. especially from the center position. I think their interest in Casey is legitimate, also feel they want some experience on the 3rd-4th lines… maybe Kyle or Zemgus. They lost Poitras for the remainder of the season and don’t have any depth from within. I don’t think the Bruins have any desire to move Swayman.

Those rights aren't free. Report was PatMcAfee paid over $4m to show NFL highlights.

Small market + dying cable = Not viable

I would love to be able to go to one spot and I’d be happy to pay à la cart per game I want to watch.

Sure have the packages and what not. But have an option that is simple, I wanna watch this game, I will give you money to watch it.

loved empire

back then you could give a NY mailing address for your satellite TV and get Empire even though your dish was in Florida

Empire thrived, Adelphia and the Rigas family killed it
