when you drop a game 2-1 vs the stars and 3-1 vs blues after a break, just not good enough of a team to deserve a top 8 spot

I said all summer with the cap space they had, they should have raised the bar and tried to get a top 4 seed where the moves they made showed more like trying to move up to that 8th seed this year

They always play well when they know there is no more pressure on them in making the playoffs. The team chokes under pressure. It is the same old story over and over again. They need a coach that can make them play hard in every game. The team plays hard at the end so they can keep their easy going coach. Lazy bunch of bstrds.

Their pressure rank is 69.69% vs the league average of 89% vs the counter of special teams -347%. If you remove Jost and add Draisiatl those #’s change compared to if you call Ennis out of retirement.

If they expected to score above the Gar(th) of the league war(t) along with shoveling the extra snow out of the crease, they might have an extra 6 points…but depending on what material was used to fabricate the boards, combined with room temperature water used to create the ice….the Sabres might be pushing for a wild card spot.

Is it the coach or the players. When they feel like playing they can play with anyone. Yes the PP sucks but there other numbers aren't horrible. Definitely some pieces that need to be added, but it seems when they play the game they are supposed to play they can do good things.

Yes, they can beat any team in the league. They have the talent to do so. But they have poor consistency and below average coaching and bad special teams.
