Hard to calculate the exact TDL cap space available at the moment. It changes daily. Cap Friendly currently shows $1.3M for the Leafs. Agree that a strong stay at home physical d-man would help. If Treliving could make such a move, it will likely come from a non playoff team. Leafs are looking at trading futures (picks and or prospects) a playoff contender will be looking for help now.

Oh calculating the cap space is straightforward but a poop ton of work.

Look at the lineup in game one, divide each player’s contract by 82 to get a per game cost, add those numbers together, the answer is the amount removed from the available cap amount.

Redo for game two, game three…..

The one thing I admittedly don’t know is how LTIR amounts can/if they affect it.

As for the $1.3 I like but I also assume it’s why Woll is being kept on LTIR as well since if they brought him back they’d lose close to $800 in space

Doing back of the envelope math:

Wikipedia says for football, front row 50 yard line seats are 46 feet from sideline.

Football field is 160 feet wide.

So 252 feet.

252 - 85 (width of a hockey rink) = 167 feet.

167 / 2 = 83.5 feet.

So imagine watching a hockey game where the rink is one rink further over.

Goal differential is 34 for the oilers and 25 for the leafs. Make it just 9 goal difference. I don't think that determines one is completely superior to the other.
