I think that was the Karlsson and Smith trades to be honest and now he can say. "We did it that way, time to try something else". - Aaron_85
He was on SN the other day ...and that's exactly what he said. He believed in them last summer and told them to go prove it but now, they haven't got it done yet, and they're running out of time and he has decisions to make in terms of believing in the core. |

Leave Brodie on the left side. - Fakepartofme

Agreed. Not making the playoffs this season pretty much confirms this core is done.
Try and move your vets (Malkin, Letang, Karlsson, etc), ask Crosby if he wants to be part of the rebuild of his team or wants to be traded and act accordingly. - Scabeh
The funny part is those guys are playing fine. They just have no supporting cast.

Watch out for the 2032 draft for a kid currently playing Atome AA in Brossard.
It's a longshot but I've never seen a 9 year old so god damn dominant in my life.
Too bad he's so small. - Scabeh
Those (frank)ing short 9 year olds suck. Will never be big enough for the NHL!
Also nobody is talking how (frank)ing brutal Rickard Rakell has been. He's signed into oblivion. We poop on Domi/Bertuzzi, but (frank). |

Andersson?
Id be fine with that.
It will cost a 1st for sure and a mid- high end to pick to start. Imo
Just keep Cowen |

Tell me about it, picked him up in one of my fantasy league. "He's good for 50 points right?"
Of course that's the year he's playing like absolute dogpoop.

Probably more than that. He's a guy that can play on a first pair, cost controlled for a few years....
The cost is bound to be pretty damn high.

I'm not seeing many movable pieces there. Letang and Karlsson seem unlikely given age and $$. Crosby ..I just can't see it. Rust, Jarry, Rakell, Smith, Graves ...all aging, struggling and/or overpaid.
Maybe Gino waives the NMC and a team doesn't hate his aging, declining production, cap hit. - The Law
Exactly. Being quite honest the only Penguins I'd want are Crosby and Graves. I don't hate his contract with an increasing cap. He's not a fit in Pittsburgh, but I think he's a legitimate top-4 D, but realistically he's probably below the median line for a good top-4 D. You could probably do better but the price would be over $5m . . . so it's very much getting what you pay for.

Top 4 RHD
Shutdown 3C
Still - mr.sir
RHD - yes.
3C = JT.
Knies-M34-Marner
Bert-Dummy-Willie
McManimal-JT-JKrok
Greg-Dave-Guy (new)
Robbie and Holmberg running back up. If you're down you squeeze the lineup and JT takes shifts with M34. A 2-way winger with size would be nice ...Greenway in Buffalo?
Rielly - RHD
Brodie-Lilly
Benny-McCabey
Gi and Timmie running back up. Ideally it's a RHD with term that can play and stay. |

While the leafs need to get some playoff success while he is here, I'm still going to enjoy how amazing this guy is. Plus he chose to stay in Canada instead of going to the US! - Aaron_85

I am fine with Brodie on the right side with less mins.
I just can't see many RHD being acquired.
Tanev is the guy probably.
Matt Roy would be ideal but depends what LA wants to do. |

Considering the moves they made and their ambitions, despite them falling off a cliff for a while after an amazing start, since they're still in the playoffs hunt, I don't see them selling any players.

Malkin has the exact same GP, goals and assists as Tavares this year.
He's doing it for $6.1M a year.

Malkin can easily be traded (if he agrees to it). The man isn't what he used to be but he's still pretty god damn good at a somehow reasonable price. |

The Blues always had that mentality of trading players they wouldn't sign even with being in a playoff position.
Also they seem to be trusting Clarke more and more.
They may use the capital they get to improve elsewhere. |

Apparently the only thing he can't do is be good on the PP despite being a HOFer and a fake top-100 player of all time. |

1: I thought Roy played for the Kings?
2: I know you probably didn't use the word always literally here but I can't remember them doing so repeatedly.
