Ya this season really separated that primary apple stat (88 v. 16). I posted a few days ago or so - coming into this season when Matthews had 299 career goals in an article from August 2023

His 299 goals have included a total of 504 assists from 44 different players since 2016-17. Of those, 36 players have record at least one primary assist with six players having 16 or more primary assists.
Of course, Mitch Marner leads the way with 99 assists on Matthews' goals, while William Nylander isn't far behind with 72. The two are also separated by just two primary assists with Marner leading the way again with 54.

Not sure who has played more time 5v5 with 34 but that should also help right.

Edit: actually impressive for (your stat) cause the primary assists totals are super tight and be feeds the best scorer in the world.

Willie is having the best season of his life...hence being in the top 15 pt leaders for first time ever. Good to see.
Marner is having an off year. But outside of 2019-20, hes been in the top 15, 10 and 5 in points.
Hopefully Marner, whos 13th in pts right now is able to turn his off season of 1.25ppg around.
Willies at 1.34ppg.

We have one guy who is 8th in the league in scoring.
