Since we are on this crap here goes: you literally jump all over AA every time the guy posts where most everyone ( most of the time just chuckle or don’t respond). Christ, you even post chirps on the board when he’s not even here posting. You reference him in the post or make a snide Marner remark or quote something he’s said previously.

If you wanna talk about repeating oneself it’s you there coach. Relax bud.

Sorry for length here - but I know jrbout and others like the idea of waiting and also site NMC. I get that opinion for sure but don’t like it as the approach for the Leafs specifically.

The NMC: the one thing to understand about pro hockey players (maybe pro athletes in general who knows) is they are ego driven. A healthy ego drive in their cases. They will not stay where they aren’t wanted. Maybe refuse and play out a year but not stay after that. There are exceptions to this but typically they will waive and control their move.
In terms of the impact that has on perception or reputation of the organization - it’s a risk reward thing. It may make some players look poorly on the team cause they hand out NMC then ask to waive but for most part they won’t care much - especially if team is successful. That’s the risk reward. Winning for a player is a cure all. Fractured relations with coaches, teammates or anyone else gets lessened by winning.

Waiting for Cap to go up and use room to keep both 16/88 to me is flawed:
1. This forces you to rely on who’s a UFA - who’s to say there is a player that fills team need available.
2. Bidding wars to attract leading to overpaying - get into same situation with cap that way.
3. Who’s to say they even choose to play for you.

There are too many questions with that theory in my opinion. Just an opinion but I feel trading high end talent and using those assets to turn into multiple pieces to round out roster then use cap increase and go hard after 1 big name to add makes more sense. Waiting and hoping the UFA market lines up with your needs seems risky.

Dude I was just saying it wasn't much work. In almost every blog you post multiple times Leafs need to move Mitch or Nylander. We get it you don't think they can win with both at a high salary, but moving them at this point is probably less realistic than them winning with one of them. Can you please go back and show me one post where I responded to AA in this blog, even though he has said some questionable stuff? Way to drag other people into the argument.
