Sorry to interrupt with hockey talk.

Nice to see Woll make 36 saves for a 4-1 win with the Marlies in his first game back

Gotta think he gets every opportunity to be #1 with Sammy running back up. Love the kids attitude ...just needs to stay healthy.

I might've had a sidekick with a funny name
Running wild through the hills chasing Jesse James
Ending up on the brink of danger
Riding shotgun for the Texas Rangers
Go west, young man, haven't you been told
California's full of whiskey, women and gold
Sleeping out all night beneath the desert stars
With a dream in my eye, and a prayer in my heart

c'mon J, If you're the guy closing the night out with song you gotta sing ..

Strangers waitin'
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlights, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night

Since January 1st 5v5 GF/GA

Marner 20-6
Matty 22-8
Brodie 23-10

next best

Holmberg 14-7

Holmberg's passed by Gregor. No more Gregor. Even Reaves is equating to good ice time now. He's got some of the best Leaf possession numbers since January 1 ..WTF.

Wife surprised me with Silversun Pickups tickets March 5. She knows I'm a fan even though she's not all too into them. Anyone else going? Its some venue History I believe, never been there. Good venue for a show?

We saw the Dead South there. It's a good space because it's smaller. If you want a couple of drinks at the show, the bars are situated in decent places and the service was pretty prompt.

October 10 - December 31 the Leafs were 12th in hits; January 1 - present they are 3rd.

There might be something to this. Of late, in particular, they seem to be playing more feisty and it's going to help - especially if you can stay out of the box doing it.

The Leafs are 15-6-1 since January 1 and of those 22 games, only 9 have been at home. Typically the hits counters at home give the Leafs more benefit, but this skews towards a degree of mean accuracy.

Ya, that lines up with what we've been hearing from Keefe too. "More (frank)ing compete!" More bumping from the forwards ...and more minutes from Benoit and McCabe who throw the body more then the rest.

Curious to see where Jarnkrok gets slotted. Put him with Holmberg and Kampf and have a really good defensive unit ...or with JT to help JT and Bobby McManimal. Both good options.

Walker beside Moregun makes sense to me. Seeler ..not sure how it slides in. Rielly, Brodie, Benoit with Lagersson and Gio backin' up ...already on the left.

Great venue for sound ..Drake's house. We saw Teddy Swims there a few months ago and it was great.

Going to see Gary Clark Jr. there in May.

Good food and drink on site too. Pricey of course. But if the wife's buying ....

History is Drake's club, and the sound is really good. I saw Stereolab there and they were commenting from stage how good the space was for music.

I wake up in the morning
And I raise my weary head
I got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night's bed
I don't know where I'm goin'
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six gun lover
A candle in the wind, yeah

And if I'm feeling good to you and you're feeling good to me
There ain't nothing we can't do or say
Feeling good, feeling fine
Oh, baby, let the music play

Burning my candle at both ends in my 20's has added about 20 extra years to my 50's.

I'm in my early 50s, but I feel like early to mid 70's physically.

No regrets though. Ok, well maybe a minor one or two, but no major ones.

I'd love to talk about hockey, but I mainly come here for the freezing cold political takes : both to give and to receive.

Congratulations! This year will be our 20th and we had considered going somewhere for it, but it sort of interferes with the kids' school - so we are at least getting away, but it's nothing to do with the anniversary. I think, as you said, when the day comes, we'll say it, acknowledge it, and that'll be that. I guess I'll get her an orchid since I've been doing that pretty much every year. I didn't last year and she took note, so . . . hint received!
