I beg to differ, it all depends on the wine, and on the preferences of the person tasting it imho. it isn't because it's double the price that it's two times better...

if you pick 2 decent wines at those prices, I think a lot of people wouldn't be able to tell, if they get it right it's most likely just a lucky guess lol.

I'm no connaisseur either but as far as I'm concerned paying 40$+ for a bottle is rather pointless, why bother paying more when there are cheaper yet still good quality wines available.

Wine favourites are usually by the region and your palate.

You can get some really good cab savs and blends outta Napa valley, that’s what I prefer.

well it's all relative, of course if you're a wine enthusiast you'll want to maybe spend a bit more at times and try out new things, as you develop your own taste. but for someone who only drinks wine very occasionally, I don't think you can automatically differentiate the 20$ bottle from the 30$ one, if both wines are good.

Agreed, that's the way I also look at it.

In the past, I was gifted many expensive bottles of wine as presents but I can't say I enjoyed them more than my usual $15 - $20 bottles.

The only thing I know is that, over the years, I found I have a preference for wines made with the Cabernet Sauvignon variety of grapes. Just sweet and dry enough for my taste.

Like I said, the region.

Even the cheaper bottles are pretty decent.

But cab savs from other regions just don’t cut it for me, even the expensive ones..

I used to despise IPAs, but then I realized they can vary a lot taste-wise from one to another. it's been a while since I've had some but there are some very good microbrewries around here as well.

it's actually really good there, i swear. i don't know about sleeping with the fishies but i do know their calamari is really good and that's squid so it's close.

yeah, some are juicy and taste like tangerine or grapefruit or something and others are just straight up hop bomb bitterness. i like both so i get to enjoy most IPAs if they're any good.
