Boeser next contract is going to be very very interesting. I have a feeling he won't resign here because we won't have room
- Jkuzzi

All the short term contracts that Benning signed all the youth to really coming back to bite them now.

Haven't got a top 6 forward out of the draft since Petey in 2017. Could include Miller since he was traded for the 2020 first rounder.

OEL trade and Jason Richardinson hurt the org. They need to find a way to re-coop those picks.

Yeah bridge deals back fire when you can’t lock in for value. Yet there is this notion of having to earn and prove it first to get the long term deal. On a losing team it’s harder to some extent.

However, they won’t recoup picks because they are not selling assets trying to win now. It’s reclamation projects and scouting for un-drafted or unsigned players to develop.

Appreciate it thank you thank you.

Only players on that list I'd go for T.J. Hughes and Zac Funk.

Add in Josh Nadeau who will most likely go back for another year or two of college.

Other than that, the free agent class of non NHL players looks weak.

Summer time move.

Rentals in Lindholm, Zadorov have already cost assets. They don't have their star players locked up for years to come like they had in Pitt on 8 and 12 year contracts.

But, but Dhaliwal said there is friction, and Dhaliwal has a tv show on Chek so he must be right and Seravalli doesn’t know squat.

All the youth? He did sign Quinn Hughes to a six year contract. Hughes wanted to get it done so it got done. If a player wants to be difficult, they will be difficult. To me, it looks like EP wants to burn up his RFA status so he has total control. I expect another three year deal, but my predictions rarely come true.

The breaking news came from Buck Foston, so both Dhaliwal and Seravalli are wrong.

So are you saying they’ll rebuild in the summer after a successful season?

I thought management has been saying is they will lock up as many as they can. Fill in those they can’t from prospects etc.

Yeah 6 is good, 8 would have been better.

EP wants to wait till the off season. That's all anyone really knows.

I said they needed to re-coop assets not trade everyone and rebuild.

I thought most in here liked shorter term with no trade or movement restrictions. When someone mentions eight year deals out come the emojis.

People like to female dog. Nobody would have a problem if all 8 year deals were extremely team friendly and players took "home town" discounts all the time.

How they going to recoup assets other than what I said? It sounded you wanted trades for picks.

Marwood and Ruby wanted a sign and trade.

You were on board with Miller, Boeser on the other hand was never going to score 30 and belongs in the A. Half right

- manvanfan

Still can’t stand Boeser and that will never change. Nice dude, frustrating and overpaid player

I think Nighty should start working on Hroneks deal now that he has Peter’s all worked out. Remember he did Boeser’s last contract as well.

Should players leave 20% of the cap behind every year so the owners can get richer too?

I don’t think owners make much money at all while owning franchises. In fact I think most lose money. They make their money when they sell it. A player taking a small discount on millions of dollars does not equal more money in owner’s pockets.

But a slight discount would really help to build a deep competitive team. A team more likely to compete for cups. I thought that was the ultimate goal but maybe I am wrong.

Yeah owners aren't making it on a year to year basis. If players did give a portion of the cap back it would go to the owners. Who else would profit from the money?

I don't know what kind of slight discount you mean but unless it's in the millions, it really isn't much. Just smarter contracts are needed and timing.

The average revenue per NHL team last year was over $200 million. I would think any team generating $130 million or more is turning a profit.
