Thanks York and Mindy. Big win at a crucial time. Gotta love those.

Now that we're approaching the trade deadline shouldn't we be discussing the return we are getting for Myers? I believe Vantel had it pegged at a 4th rounder earlier this year. But with his inflated 6 million dollar salary I suppose we'd have to add a sweetener.

Happy Hate Sunday all. Suck it Lordy.

Trade tree…

Horvat/2023 2nd/2026 3rd
for
Hronek/Zadorov/Raty/NYI 2023 4th

- Nighthawk

That is a nice looking tree so far.
Now can we resign Hronek for less than the 8.5 x 8 he got from Uncle Lou, and also get Zad done as well.

Eventually I will run out. It actually required some thought this morning. Luckily I'm not an ex Defenceman or Booner so I'm capable of it.

Sure. Addition by subtraction if they are going to pay the little freak $12MM
- CanuckDon

That would be a big haul.
Crouse, 26 and Cooley, 19 would completely balance out the roster. Bujgstad,31 would be the big shutdown C that would have trade value after a Cup run. And an unprotected 1st?
Petey is a great player, not my type of franchise center, as I have said before, but this is pure fantasy.
Cooley is a 3rd OA on entry deal, the Yotes are in 27th and falling so the 1st is top 5 with a chance of 1st OA.

I don't want to pull you away from teaching your Objective Journalism and Political Censorship class on the other thread. It's far more important.

Johnson/Jiricek/CBJ 1st (4th overall)

I don’t believe for a moment or suggest trading Petey. If traded the haul would need to be very significant with 3 key pieces coming back. This requires Lindy being resigned say at 6/8m. Johnson would be his winger & can play C if needed. Jiricek a very promising RHD. The 1st in the top 5 would get a blue chipper on D or maybe a C.

Only way this could ever happen is a sign & trade & CBJ wants Petey with Fantilli as a 1-2 punch. With GM JK fired idk what their plan is.Sillinger as a 3C. Petey would want an NMC so PA pulls the rug out from under before it kicks in 🤪

Another nice add is Canucks started this homestand off the road with a win. So much sweeter it was against the Bruins.

Imo Hronek starts at 6.5m low end 8.5m high end. Add in how much he likes Van & wants to win should factor in. Term makes all the difference so I’ll guess 7-8/7.75m

All comes down to if Petey is willing to sign. If yes, then the 8 / 11 or 12 is the number. If no, then a deal like this could make sense. All our jabber is just that. No possible trade will happen during the season and then it will all come to a head in June.

Totally agree the offseason is when biz begins. Spitballin is fun but sure enough somebody will chime in & take it too seriously 🤪👍

I doubt it will be the low end.

You suck it. Big character comeback for the boys last night down 2-0. That is the club we expect but certainly can't do it every game. Best thing about the BOA last night were those excellent Flames uni's

What I like about PA is he’s sneaky clever. JR is a great mentor. Leaks are minimal & every trade is more than it appears on the surface. My kinda GM who has options if things change & he doesn’t over pay. That brings me to Lindy who was a pricey get to some degree. Kuz was for cap balance & no great loss with him struggling & now sitting in the press box. The 1st is very late in a draft that isn’t close to being deep past at most the top 20. Hunter is the real wild card. I gotta believe he isn’t a rental & every effort will be made.. How PA navigates resigning him will be good food to chew on in the offseason. Keeping our best prospects is awesome & they be will ready by 2025/26 season the way they are trending & good time to have elc’s help cap mgmt.
Willander rumoured to stay at BU next season. Lekki has to earn a 2024/25 roster spot but should stay in Abby to develop more on the smaller ice. D Petey LHD could be on the 3rd pair after AHL seasoning. Raty & Pod are marinading nicely & call up material. Goalies still a few years away to be back ups imo.

I see a longer term since only Willander is looking like a top 4 RHD. RHD simply to hard to get & Hronek will want more security imo. Hughes is a quasi benchmark but comes due in 4yrs where he’ll cash in.

Exactly what I thought myself... and said as much last night. The fan and local media noise about Petey has led to teams inquiring but management isn't interested right now. Signing is the intent. So in the summer this will be resolved one way or another but they are not going to turn this team upside down right now with the season they are having.

Could the rumoured contract be to open up options for any trade offers sooner or later? If Petey bites then PA has more runway before any probable NMC can kick in.

Shrewd mofo 🤪😂👍

I think Petey’s camp leans towards that. It’s still in the Canucks best interest to resign him before July 1st. No matter what the future could be.
