I looked at this stuff earlier today and tried to undertand all the jargon (ie. Spread, Combos, Over/Under).

Gotta admit I was a bit lost ... decided to start simple by just chosing a winner, you have to learn to walk before you can run.

Might try some other stuff (ie. Spread) when the Habs play tomorrow ... at a buck or 2 a pop I don't care whether I win or lose.

oh, also:

the spread is how many points the favorite is favored to win by. it's almost always -1.5 for hockey. so if you take a team to win by 1.5, you need them to win by 2.

the over/under is how many goals both teams will score in total. so if you take an "over 6.5" bet, you need the teams to score at least 7 goals together.
