Except I'm going to the game tomorrow night, so expect a listless effort by the Leafs in a 5-1 loss.

From siegel on the tweeter

"Max Lajoie is no longer on the Leafs active roster.

That puts the Leafs at 21 players. Which means one more roster move to accommodate the eventual returns of Mark Giordano, Joseph Woll, and Calle Järnkrok.:

I may be in the minority, but I'm not adverse to throwing Jones on waivers and risking losing him. He served his purpose and by his play of late, his best before date has passed.

Martin Jones
October - Janaury 10
12GP, .934%, 1.98 GAA, +9.63 GSAx

Martin Jones
January 11 - present
8GP, .867%, 3.69, -4.67 GSAx

That said, I've never liked him so it's easy for me to have no faith in him!

You know, it's absolutely amazing to me that with Mitch Marner on a raging points heater and Matthews doing his thing, still the Leafs' leader in points, GWG and shorthanded goals is my man William Styles Nylander.

I might just suck back a chicken sandwich or two also. Gonna go play some shinny and work up an appetite. I am craving hot dogs also.

A hockey parent was telling me he now does hot dogs in the air fryer.

I'm going to have to do some experiments.

Changing the subject from that insanity for one moment to a semi funny story . . .

We got an IPTV box from my sister-in-law about two years ago - she paid for the first 3 months, and then we've been paying since. The service is mediocre at best and the quality of the stream is limited. So we ended up exploring other options. A friend had a subscription with one company, so we signed up with them on a 3 month term, but were immediately disappointed (not unsurprisingly my friend was quite happy to jump onboard with a change of provider - after he strongly recommended this one!) and another friend had one that had a free-trial - so we tried it and liked it, and signed up - except there's a scam site setup that has _almost_ the same name but does offer IPTV service, and then we found the proper site and signed up there after trialing it for 10 days and liking it.

We are presently subscribed to Rogers for cellular service, Bell for cable, and 4 different IPTV providers for the next 2.5 months. I don't know if I have you beat on your personal 5G hotspot capabilities, but I can pretty much watch any channel anywhere in the world if I want to!

I miss Rogers cable for TV.

I have Start, which is mediocre at best. Long delays because they're buffering like crazy on their end to keep up with the demands. I remember one game you guys were cheering/moaning for 2 back-to-back goals I hadn't even seen yet.

And it doesn't work on my phone because Bell/Rogers blocked that, and Start does geoblocking, so good luck watching games on vacation.

It's a terrible thing that a free streaming link that gets posted around here is better than something that costs me $90 a month.

I am a hot dog megafan. Long ago I arrived at the conclusion that ballpark franks in a soft bun cooked in the microwave is the zenith of the hot dog arts. If I didn't have a microwave at hand I would try something else, but more likely I would skip the dogs until I had a microwave.

Ya, I think they still have flexibility. Gio, Timmins and Jarnkrok still TBD in terms of return dates. That's 25 bodies (14F, 8D, 3G) in total when everyone's healthy and those 25 put them right up against the Cap.

A trade or two is coming so the math will work itself out but even if they did nothing they'd still have options.

Holmberg and Robertson don't need waivers.
Gregor and/or Reaves could be waived.
Lagersson and/or Timmins could be waived.
Jones could be waived.

I assume Jarnkrok will be back in a week or two. Gio and Timmins could maybe be held out for weeks (ie. to the playoffs) if they needed.

I agree. When we lived in Mississauga and had Rogers, we never knew how good it was. Now it was a simpler coax cable service with the PVR box and so on, but it was great and reliable. The internet to the home was stable and reliable.

We've moved out to Waterdown and have to go with Cogeco or Bell Fibe. Both have been just ok at best. Cogeco was frequently down until we just left and went to Bell - and with Bell the internet has been decent enough, but the TV - which is a wireless service - has been bad enough that secondary streaming services are almost better and more reliable.

But they may need to move some bodies soon.
So we'll see.

Timmins will be out for another month me thinks or till the playoff start
I think they move the waiver exempt guys first.

Also what about Murray? I wonder were he is at in his recovery.

Staying on the record as: I would not waive Timmins. I am a staunch believer that the kid could be a top-4 option. He knows how to play. He doesn't necessarily know how to stay healthy.

EF said on the pod this morning

He has been told Adam Larsson will not be moved.

Speculated Leafs may be interested in the Walker and Seeler price tag because of their almost trade for Tanev/Zadorov

Says they likely keep 3 goalies on the roster.

Hot dog split down the middle length wise, in a frying pan.

Once the dog is half cooked or so (depending on how crispy you like it) throw the bun in the pan beside it and cover with a lid to give the bun a soft / steamed feel.

You can put a bit of butter on the inside of the bun and put it face down to lightly toast it if you wish. You can also then flip it over and put some cheese inside the bun if you wish.

Amazing way to eat dogs.

That being said I'm want a traditional on the grill / street meat after the bar dog as my first choice every time with some mayo, onions and corn relish.
