Mrs. Wedgie and I just finished it.

I liked the final episode, but we were joking that we wouldn't have watched it to the end if we hadn't already invested so much time in it.

We haven't watched the previous seasons, but according to my wife the fans of the series are furious about the latest season, which was too much of a departure from the previous ones.

But I did like the ending - which I felt wrapped it up well, and was a plausible explanation.

In fairness to the writer, Lopez, she actually pitched it having nothing to do with True Detective, but HBO wanted to spin it as a TD series, so that's why all the disjointed references to S1.

The elevator pitch would've been fantastic, for sure, great setting, characters, nordic noir-ish... it's a shame because I bet without the True Detective cloud lingering over it, it probably would've been solid.

I'm 3 episodes in ....it's a'ight so far. You gotta love the ball of frozen flesh. Season one set the bar so (frank)ing high every other season will be "disappointing" to various degrees.

top-slit bun is a baller move.

Especially for lobster rolls.

A brioche top slit and quality toppings make the dog almost irrelevant.

Currently on ep 6 of masters of the air, not too shabby at all.
But i hate the opening credits, always fast forward. So overly dramatic while trying to pull on heart strings and long.

I skip the opening credits on every show. I hate how they make you watch 10 minutes sometimes before tho.

The only show I didn’t skip the opening credits was Succession. That song is a banger

I wouldn't bother to be honest. My wife liked it more than I did, mostly because of two leading females, which I completely understand, but we both agreed it was disjointed, slow, very little detective work, aka more like a spooky ghost story "horror" than True Detective.

If you can blank out TD/season 1 and assume it's a standalone series, you might be able to get through it.

If you loved Season 1, you'll be greatly disappointed.

I'd rank them as follows:

Season 1

Season 3
Season 4
Season 2

Good news:

I have ballpark franks and buns.

Will air fry them today for lunch and let you all know.

- Atomic Wedgie

If you like hot dogs on the BBQ, air fryer is a better method.

More even heat, doesn't dry them out.

But I still prefer the steamy goodness of the microwave.

Yeah I think they "they need to get 2 D" is a thing of the past. Maybe find a way for a team to throw in a Gustafson type D where they can just sit in the press box and use if needed.

Laughton+Walker would be interesting BUT I still find it hard to believe Tre's only D add is under 6 ft.

I'd go with a small support add like that, but I'd still want a big swing attempt . . . I'd spend big - like 1st round picks, good prospects, whatever if you can land a 1RHD. They don't need to be an impossibility like prime Pietrangelo or Doughty - I'm not swinging for the moon here - but they need to be capable of playing top pair minutes, stabilizing Rielly and be capable of moving the puck out of danger and protecting the net. I know EF said Larsson is likely unavailable, but someone like him - or Hanifin if an extension could be managed - someone who could come in and legitimately bump Brodie to a different partner. . .

Rielly - newguy
McCabe - Benoit
Brodie - Liljegren
Giordano, Timmins . . .

Since January 1, Rielly - Brodie, despite being +5, have an xGF of 44.4% - they outshot, outchanced and give up 53.6% of the HD chances.

We are 16-6-1 since January 1 despite _that_ being our top pair for 11-6-1 of that nice stretch.

McCabe - Benoit got off to a rough start (43% xGF prior to January 1), but have settled decently enough in at 54.9% since January 1 (although they are -3).

While Brodie - Liljegren weren't great, they were effective. They ended up +7 during Rielly's 5 game suspension but were just 50.8% xGF against top competition. If newguy RHD could push them down against lower competition, those numbers would likely go up and Rielly's mediocre numbers would likely be bolstered.

Same crap I keep saying - but Ekholm did wonders for Edmonton. We literally need that same trade.
