I have friends who worked in Covid ICU units and I'll keep continue following their recommendations during the next pandemic.

i saw the same comedy. can we at least admit that the masks didnt do a thing?

I also still see peeps alone in car with mask on. Those people were done a disservice and need some help

- drexel

The mask did help.
Only a (frank)ing moron cant see that.

Maybe the ones still wearing mask have colds and dont want to spread it.

While wearing a mask, i wasnt sick at all throughout the 18 months i wore it.
Been sick several times since ive stopped wearing them.

They helped.

I think we can all agree, vaccines or not, that the next pandemic virus that comes along with a high kill ratio is going to make mincemeat out of us.

Make it something airborne, with a long incubation period that coincides with high transmissibility and a high mortality rate, and we are friggin toast.

Covid shows that our collective response to this kind of threat is incoherent and inconsistent. That's not gonna cut it when Captain Trips rolls around.

On the hockey side, Duch sitting at 102 points after 1g/3a today. I think Matthews is safe for the Rocket, but the Ross isn't decided yet.

as a scientist I will trust the data. WHo the hell are peeps alone in car spreading a cold to? The mental health aspects of the overreaction are really under reported.

I can't wait to see what gets released from the permafrost, besides the methane. Millennia old megaviruses that science has never seen. We were lucky that Covid-19 spawned from a familiar family of viruses (corona) that we already had an established body of research to start with.

Starting from square one, racing against the clock, sounds like a bad sci-fi movie plot.

You'd hope the Chinese would stop manipulating pathogens in low security labs, and/or keeping live animals in food environments, but oh well.

Or wait until you can build a virus completely from scratch. Right now you can copy and paste from existing genes, but wait until you can invent one entirely.

Speaking of, I have a Reaper plant that I overwintered inside. So it's already a fully developed plant. I'm going to grow the biggest single monster pepper tree of my life.
