I guess I get to see the 1st line I was asking Sully to try out earlier. Too bad it comes at the expense of Jake and Rust. If Smith really does want out now's the time to step up and showcase.

I've wanted a prolonged look at this, as well.

I looked up Frank Seravalli after 123's comment about him not liking Dubas and discovered this nice write up on Jake and potential suiters and comparable trades...

Frank Seravalli really doesn't like Dubas lol.

Wasn't he the guy who said Jarry had a chronic injury last year?

Oh yeah! I do believe he was the one who talked about Jarry having the chronic injury problem.

This was more so what I read and saw.

I actually like that write up. I hope other GM's see things the way he does for the price of Jake. I am hoping we can get a bidding war and bring back some solid pieces and some picks in a trade.

Pretty accurate breakdown of Jake. So far the most of the proposed trades for him I've seen have been meh.

I think what could make a Guentzel trade really good for us is resign conditions. At the end of the day, no matter how great he is, Guentzel is just a rental and you can only justify giving up so much for a rental. But resigning conditions? Might be willing to play ball there

Sid should send Petersen a fruit basket or something. In fact, the Pens should buy him a new car or something cause that ECHL goalie basically handed you the game. You're welcome!

Good one? Did you see the goals? The Flyers should have just played the entire game with an empty net. The funny part is that the Flyguys played a physical emotional game against the Rags the day before while your geriatrics rested and the Flyers still put up a 6 spot on you.

Man you're right, since you explained it that way it sounds a whole lot less stupid to send over a gift basket and a new car.

Give him a break, it’s been a long time since his team sniffed the playoffs this late in the season.

I was thinking the very same thing. We go from, who cares about a first round pick to can't give up a third round pick. By the way, we have two third round picks in '26.
- Thunderbolt

Product of where we are. You're either looking to trade picks or gather them. The former is more fun, but you need to be honest when it's time to do the latter

Bermstrom is only 24 also not 54 like the rest of the team. He's a proven goal scorer in the AHL Where in the AHL does the penguins farm team rank? Near the bottom? Yager is their best forward prospect. Unless you want to count poulion? If gruden and Puustinen by passed poulin to the nhl already, I wouldn't even consider poulin a prospect anymore.
- jb55

Yager is their best forward, (or any position) prospect by a mile. After that, it's still probably Poulin. At their ages, many sites don't even consider Puustinen or Gruden prospects anymore. If he was healthy, I'd hope Poulin would be up right now.

Incidentally, Ilyin, the Pens 5th round pick this year, was ranked 3rd forward and sixth overall by the Athletic mid season. Having a post draft offensive breakout like Puustinen did, but he's 18 not 20 at draft.

The fact those guys are your 5 and six prospects, neither in many people's minds sure fire NHLers, and the Pens prospects actually drop off a cliff after them, shows how bad they need every round 1-3 pick of it's time to restock.

He is going to get traded. Keeping him in the minors to light it up rather than risk spoiling some value if he falls flat on a call up. I'd love to see him get a chance, we are going to need the offence!

Obviously don’t wanna see drysdale hurt but that was a damn nice hit by harkens. I know anaheims fan who didn’t care of drysdale being gone due to him always being hurt.

So I'm wondering if this is a 3-way trade that could work?

Pens: Noah Hanifan (extended), Conor Garland, Nils Hoglander

Vancouver: Jake Guentzel (2-3 mil retained by Cal)

Calgary: Ryan Graves, POJ or Ty Smith (since they'll probably be sending Tanev out), Owen Pickering, Pit 2nd and Vancouver 2nd

Then we send out Ned and Smith to recoup some draft capital.
