We absolutely crushed our top ten picks starting with Reilly. Not many teams can say that, some of them tanked and blew it.

If the Leafs stay hot the next 3 games that Monday matchup vs the bruins could tie them in the standings

They've done a decent job since 2014 of selecting NHL players in the 2nd round. Yes, they could have picked better players in the 2nd round, but they have still generally found an NHL calibre player. Out of 10 picks, 5 have been NHL regulars, Minten projects to, and the book is out on Hirvonen. I'm not sold on him and I doubt he'd ever be anything more than a 4th line or tweener, but he has skill. We know we missed on Bracco, Korshkov and Rasanen (2015 - 2017), so they've done ok otherwise.

After the 2nd, they've had 54 picks since 2014 and found 4 NHLers (Engvall, Joshua, Holmberg and Woll) with a few fringe guys still to develop - Niemela, Abruzzese, Moldenhauer, Ovchinnikov, Hildeby, Voit, Tverberg, maybe one of the Russian goalies Peksa or Akhtyamov . . .

There are certainly some teams in the same boat of being a competitive team that have done better, but the Leafs . . . I think to put it in my perspective - they have have been much better at finding talent than the Leafs _used_ to be!

It depends on the team. For the Leafs the future is now. But still, I think fans tend to drastically overvalue late draft picks.

Running over pedestrians is a sport here.

Every day I get on the roads in Florida and every day I have to avoid a collision with poop drivers. People pulling out in front of you, not using turn signals, brake riding, running lights, speeding, weaving in and out of lanes, tail gating, distracted driving, the whole nine yards you see everywhere else, except cranked up by a factor of 10.
