When the whole team plays well they cover up the same issues:

1. Tavares' poor play and giveaways. Last night was so obvious but he does it ALL the time and he's slow AF. Something must be wrong with him, even I can see he's worse than usual. Time to lose the C. He's junk right now and leading no one. Reaves is out scoring him lately with less give aways.

2. Keefe gets out coached constantly. His line blender screams insecurity or lack of control over his players. And his lack of accountability for players like Tavares or the others is ridiculous. Kampf sure. Reaves sure. Any of the other overpaid guys, nope. (Matthews is always solid so he's not included in this, at all, ever. The bestus.)

3. The D is not horrible but bad...horrible at times. Rielly is another give away machine and really bad in his own end. He needs a legit defensive partner. Then add Keefe's dumb as poop pairings to start the game and presto the Leafs D is terrible and playing from behind. They need at least one solid top 4 RHD, two if they could dump Brodie.

4. Goaltending is suspect at best. Sammy was decent enough last night and made a couple of great saves. But I'll hold judgement until Woll is back...even though the rookie goaltender and Cup win is a long shot IMO.

Tree needs to get to work on the #3 at least. Tavares, Keefe and Brodie are going no where this season and the G position is over stocked so it won't change before the playoffs.

Never really appreciated a coaching change and good GMing until I spectated Vancouver's recent resurgence. Imagine what Tocchet could've done with the Leafs??? Or if Tree added Zadorov and Soucy???

(frank)ing hate missing out on simple trades for the right players.

PS, I don't think Tanev is the answer. I just get the feeling it would be Foligno 2.0.

That’s fine you can think that.

For me he had a bad game, seems like most agree.

If Sammy plays like that every game for the rest of the year the leafs aren’t in a good spot, and won’t win many playoff games.

Need more from your goaltender, Leafs didn’t help him out either.

But people are allowed to say Sammie had a bad game, he had a good run for 10 games it’s okay.

No.
Unless they say, sammie cost us the game.
But thats not the same as "he didnt play well".

Some are just a little sensitive

Sure and some are quick to say BS like "the goalie didn't play well" when it's not accurate at all.

It is accurate. He had two bad goals and allowed 5 total. Now i understand 2 weren't his fault at all, sometimes ya just cant stop certain shots. But 5 goals allowed is not a great outing.
And thats ok. He had an off game and the team in front of him were horrible.

Again, no one said hes the reason they lost.

But go ahead, make a big deal about it.

yes he had 2 bad goal but only allowed 5, don't forget the empty net goal.
I'm not making a big deal out of it, just trying to understand why you and others like Santo think he had a bad game.

It's not like he was swimming out there and flopping all over the place

I agree it wasn't his best game, I just don't think he was as bad as you make it out to be.

So does Woll get activated and play tomorrow night?

I just said he didnt play well, i didnt make him out to be anything other than that.

It seems like tomorrow is a perfect time to get him in a game.
So i hope so, if he is ready.
But we'll see.

He let 5 goals on 31 shots.

He let in 2 really bad goals.

Sorry but good NHL goaltending is not letting 2 stinkers in.

The “not his fault” goals is a bs cop out. They are paid to stop shots that “aren’t their fault” if they go in.

He had a bad game, onto the next. It’s not a big deal.

Good for you if you think that is good goaltending, I have higher expectations for Samsonov than you.

I was watching the Panthers last game @TB, and I heard the home crowd does the Olé olé cheer after a goal. So TB copies Toronto’s colors, and Montreal’s celebration cheer.

Thanks for the laugh, I was unaware that anyone who had a different point of view was "making a big deal about" something.

If this is the case I would offer that you make a 'big deal' about a fair bit too my friend!

Also was not aware empty net goals were counted as goals the goalie gave up - cool!

So reading the above basically your "higher expectations" are that the goalie stop shots they shouldn't really (aka big time saves, 10 bell saves etc. etc. etc.) as well as any other shot that isn't the goalies fault which I guess means every other shot?

So any goalie that lets in any # of goals had a bad game.
Cool cool.
