He's 22 and waiver exempt. I wouldn't be trading him unless he's valued for the 2nd round pick used to select him. If you get that equitable value and see no future for him here, then use him in a deal. Otherwise it makes more sense to keep him and try him next year. He's not going to make more than $850k on his next 1-2 year deal.

His size shouldn't be an issue and really hasn't been this year - his effort just has to be consistent. Ironically Robertson gives a more consistent effort than most of the other guys in his same bottom-6 realm - Holmberg, Gregor, McMann, Reaves . . . and out produces all of them, but because he's shorter he doesn't get the coach's approval.

If any team drafts a player in the mid to late 2nd round and they get what Robertson is right now at 22 they are pretty damn happy. Most guys drafted aren't even in the nhl.

I mean in his draft from pick 41-62 he has the 2nd most goals. He has the 5th most goals in the entire 2nd round.

He should be valued at a 2nd round pick and maybe even a mid to late pick as well.

I think the effort is there with Nickie but I feel better with Jarnkrok on the 3rd line. He just seems more responsible or makes fewer mistakes. Since the Domi line is a bit scary defensively Keefe needs JT’s line to be reliable. Unless he’s an add in bringing in a stud Dman, I think he is in and out of the lineup and may be a starter in the playoffs depending on the matchup.

I do understand that. I'm more saying that unless someone gives you fair value, there may be no reason to trade him this year - because he's still waiver exempt and you might need him next year on one of those lines. If Domi doesn't resign or the money isn't around and there just happens to be a nice $850k guy who can score 15-20 sitting there in your farm system . . .it's found money.

“What it means is that cap space is gonna be an issue. So unless he’s going to subtract something, and I think we’re all kinda looking at Matt Roy…”

Sucks for Gio. I like the guy on spot duty when he's healthy.

Good thing they just signed the Mighty Boosh.

Robbie had to go down or else they had to put someone on waivers ..so the demotion doesn't signal anything .....yet.

He'll be up April 18th (unless he's traded) along with the miraculous return of Klingberg, Murray, Muzzin, Gio and Timmy. #vancouvercries
