Gretzky got traded.

I kid, I too lose my mind when people mention Jenner. We have a better chance of getting Caitlyn.

- Whipper

Funny and even I have to admit its, true.

(I know I post about it but I don't think they get him...more that he's the type and its fun to play trade ideas like they're hockey cards when I was a kid)

Well done *golf clap*

Throw that catch phrase on a t-shirt and get a green light from the President of the BoomTangClanFazzzzz (aka Sklappy) and sell that poop & you set for life financially and will never wilt like a pecker under a sheet of snow.

Like Gudas or not, that guy throws a mean old-school hip check.

During his time in Tampa, I watched him absolutely Scott Stevens the poop out of a few guys. It was as glorious as his beard.

Weirdly, you know who else was good with that hip check?

Anton Stralman. He just didn't use it as much as Gudas did.

Man, the angsty meltdown on PPP per acquiring Boosh is epic.

He's a serviceable body, played decently with Rielly, is good on the PK, salary less than league minimum, didn't cost much, and provides needed cap flexibility.

Why the hate?

6th round pick doesnt matter. 3rd is meh. It's depth with a right hand shot dman who plays a more defensive game. Gio went down AND the Russian bear has played with Rielly before and did fine.

Depth add that provides options going forward. At a minimum it allows Keefe to go back to Brodie-Liljegren and Benoit-McCabe pairings. Tre can keep shopping for D help, could maybe move Lilly, maybe add on the left side if there’s a better option there or just wait till the summer.

Hate is probably from Dubas lovers and Tre haters.

Pettersson AAV of 11.6 over 8 years.
Comments on X indicates it's a steal!
So, would you rather have Pettersson at 11.6 or Nylander at 11.5?

https://www.nhl.com/canuc.../elias-pettersson-8480012

https://www.nhl.com/maple.../william-nylander-8477939

Pettersson is a center, 2.5 years younger and averages over a point a game.

Geez. I think I'd take Pettersson.

Maybe Tree should have threatened to trade Nylander...

It really doesn't seem like a move that merits a meltdown.

Pettersson is 1.02 ppg over 387 games.

Nylander is .882 ppg over 580 games.

Monkey Punk can throw out the fancy stats, but using PPG alone, it looks like Petterson brings more offense.

Further, in the playoffs :

Nylander 40 points in 50 games (17g, two game winners)

Pettersson 18 points in 17 games (7g, two game winners)

Are the Leafs the worst team in the NHL at signing contracts ? It appears so.

RFA and that makes a difference. Also look at this season and the last one. Pettersson heading for second straight 100+ point season. Good signing by the Canucks. Still very happy with the Nylander signing. He's been a beast this year. Willy will score 40 goals for the second straight season and is the biggest reason Bertuzzi and Domi finding success after struggling most of this season.

This year's 10 worst contracts from the hockey writers and last year's by the athletic. Hard to argue. No Leaf contracts present. Lots of Habs contracts though
