If the ref could’ve called something, it would’ve been charging.

He left his feet after contact.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

It wasn't even the leaving the feet that you need to call that charging - it was the fact that he identifies Lyubushkin as a potential target to hit before the puck is there, he takes about 7 or 8 strides from the other side of the net to hit Lyubushkin - with no intent to play the puck - you can state that he comes to a glide, but that isn't the intent of the rule - he stops moving his feet so he can propel himself into the hit, not to slow his acceleration.

As for leaving his feet, he doesn't leave his feet as a result of the contact, he leaves his feet in order to initiate the contact, you can see he is planted a moment before impact, and then his feet are elevated as the impact occurs. This isn't just a hit, it is an upwards jump.

The hit is most certainly text box charging in every example I've ever seen. It really shouldn't be debatable unless you don't know the rule.

hopefully for you guys they go in healthy and stay healthy in the 1st round....unless you guys trade your 1st and a prospect to MTL then (frank) the Leafs and hope you get swept
- Symba007

We've been fortunate not to lose any of the young core in the playoffs, hopefully that luck keeps up.
Nothing worth a 1st from Montreal that wed trade for.

Hey, AA, sorry how does the force of rempe hitting boosh cause him to leave the ice after hitting boosh but before boosh hits the boards?
Rempe is clearly jumping towards boosh and leaving the ice and not bouncing off boosh causing him to leave the ice.
Gimme a break.

- Fakepartofme

Honestly this hit is a big nothing burger..

It was charging, almost certainly. But everything else was fine. Plus, it was Rempe, the league needs him getting beat up every game.

Let’s discuss further Nylander giving up on his team last game.

How about this, let’s not discuss it any further until the Overdrive guys talk about it. I’ll pencil you and the others in here as “totally cool, nothing wrong with what he did, he’s not making 11.5M yet so who cares,” camp.

Me on the other hand, will come out and say already that I agree with whatever Hayes and Odog think.

Ya it was charging. I’ve been saying that.

It’s not suspension worthy tho. So Leafs fans should stop whining and being little female doges.

Unless that nothing burger means boosh is out for an extended time.

Great he left the play, but it didnt result in a goal.
Im sure he got a talking to from one of the coaches.
Are you going to fairly point the errors marner or any other player does.....or just complain about willie?
Hes here for 8 more years.
All youre doing is bringing out the "willie is better than marner" nonsense people.
But for this year, the only year in the past 6 or so, willie could finish with more points than marner and may even hit a 100pts before marner.
So you're gonna need to see a doc prior to that and prepare, get seated comfortably in a chair, breath in and exhale slowly, clear your mind......we dont want you exploding.

Marner doesn’t do poop like that, Fake.

His +/- and multiple selke nominations along with being a 2X NHL first line RW’er confirms it.

Love these guys. They're like those yip yip muppets.

Like one of them pops their head out somewhere and goes, "Yip!", and then another pops their head up and throws out another, "Yip," and soon you have about 8 of them gathered around an obscure website, "Yip, yip, yip, yip, yip!"

The reason we went into Overtime was because of Marner. There's no need to be hypocritical. They both make mistakes - and yeah, Willy does make more.

I'm not sure what prompted the neutral zone change by Willy as the Rangers regrouped. There may have been a signal from the bench, but the Leafs were ready as he approached the bench for the change. The Rangers did transition that play quickly which made it look worse.

I will say that at the time I found it a poor decision - by whomever made it. Willy had been out for a minute though at that point and had gone up the ice twice and back once, so it may have been simply that he had nothing left in the tank - is being out there and dragging your tired ass 10 feet behind the play better than getting fresh legs on the ice? I'm not sure - since Willy was the high forechecker and his man was the far side winger who wasn't involved in the Rangers subsequent chance, I think perhaps it's even more of a nothingburger than the actual Charge that should have been penalized - and if you're really the DoPS and not just a symbolic gesture, you'd throw a $5k fine at the kid let him know you're watching and to give him a history so he tones it down.

worth noting, its 9-1 since the Sens heroic empty net cup winning slap shot.
big tip of the cap to the sens for the assist.

Don't mistake relevance for anger.

Leafs drama is what stirs the NHL Drink.
