I noticed it too, it was a poopty time for Nylander to dip out...and not in a 3 on 3 is weird kinda way.
IIRC he was only out for a short amount of time and when he meandered off and left a 3 on 2, I thought WTF he couldn't have been out of gas already.
But not for nothing, the whole OT was sloppy AF. Matthews was skating like he was gassed as soon as his skates hit the ice. Leafs we're lucky to win IMO. - underhill14
He'd been out for a minute.
Nylander came on at 4:20, they had the chance that led to an offensive zone faceoff at 4:05, at 3:21 Nylander goes for the change and is off the ice at 3:20.
It wasn't a rushing 3-on-2 - the Rangers had gained the zone initially, and then pulled back to the neutral zone - that was when Nylander went for the change. It still looked bad, and my first thought at the time was that it was a bad decision.
But a minute on the ice in 3 on 3 OT? I guess the question is how much he really had left.

This is you every day...
"Dear Mitchy,
I hope you don't mind I called you Mitchy. I figure since I've written 571 daily letters that we can do that with each other. I'll let you figure out a name for me but I suggest something cool like "Laser" or "Turbo".
I told the internet that Nylander made a BIG mistake in your win against the rangers! I glossed over your icing but those happen when you're ELITE. Anyway I got the internet TRAPPED with my film review. No way they can argue now!
Anyway, hoping you'll notice me outside the Scotiabank arena the next time my mom drives me to Toronto. Next time I'll stay for the full 3 hours after the game in case you came out late again! I thought I saw you but it must have been my eyes after 2 hours in the snow. You'd never do me like that Mitchy.
Much Love,
"Laser" - Aaron_85

The Broons are......struggling?
have given up 3-5 goals in 11 straight games.
a lot of OT/SO games.
Love to see the Leafs put the boots to them. - senstroll
Literally, lets focus on just beating them up. The points are nice and all but I wouldn't hate that. |

I’m going to say it will be a 7-5 slugfest.
Matthews with a couple.
Winner unknown. |

For now.
This long stretch for them has indicated they are going to fall down the standings.
Leafs win tonight and I say good luck to them against a rested Edmonton team. Huge game tonight for both teams. - Santo_44
Those dirtbags will probably beat us and the Oilers. |

Honestly this TDL day may be quite busy compared to the last few.
Overall maybe not so much but a lot will be crammed into the final week here. - Santo_44
Gotta wonder if the focus for Tree is that middle six. I think Berts goals are masking a pretty weak line. Henrique or Wennberg may be available but pricey. |

I like a good steak analogy ...but how about rather than 'well done' we just leave them a little salty and bloodied? |

Just had a 45 minute meeting that could have been 10 minutes.
At 35 minutes, a visibly frustrated Wedgie took control of the meeting (it wasn't mine) and got poop done.
I'm probably in deep poop now, but I don't franking care. Someone had to do it. |

In my defence, I started talking about Willy completely (frank)ing his team over yesterday.
But generally, you’re right. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Hey AA, when I'm in a contest and my opponent has no path to victory I like to be sporting and offer a chance to concede.
So how about it, if you concede now that Willy will end up with more points than Marner, I'll accept the concession and let you off the hook (get it?) for the Redfin. Or we can continue and when you lose you still owe me. This is your chance to get it over with gracefully and save a few bucks.
Marner has been absolutely outstanding for a while now and racking up mad points, and he's still 9 points back of Styles. Honeslty, when he got within 5 points it got interesting, but it's a fait accompli now.

one plus this deadline is TB, Boston and Flo Rida all do not have a 2024 or 2025 1st to trade.
Leafs have 2024 and should take advantage

Ya, I think the East stays pretty quiet b/c you're right ...no assets.
The West may be an arms war like the East was last year.
The Hanifin thing is interesting ...sounds like he's angling hard for the US south-east but neither of those teams has a lot to give.
I think Tree is dangling the 1st but only for term and teams are maybe not interested in moving those guys ...so far. |

Ahh, that makes more sense. Not a totally crappy move on Willy's part.
Hard to tell when watching how much time went by, it seemed a lot shorter.
But who cares Dudes, Leafs won.
Be Excellent to each other.
