I drink Busch. Congratulations, despite a few simple IRA’s endless hrs of high paying side gigs, and a regular job I doubt I’ll ever see retirement.

Thank you also. Appreciate that.

The answer is quite simple: They have had a functioning power play all season.

Ohhhhh I see now. What's it going to be next week though? Is nieto the workhorse and missing now that they're losing again? Sullivan...Or is this the (canada effect like the steelers) and reirdon is the issue? Mr 2 stanley cups put carter on the PP in front of the net. That helped, No? Are we just searching or grasping now for answers? Next week it will be penalty kill?

I told someone else on here the samething.

If you keep the same players now expect the blackhawks syndrome soon. Well, not soon it's happening already it looks like.

I havent had a chance to vet this yet - but on Twitter I saw a posting that says all Penguins key players (Crosby/Malkin/Letang/Karlsson/Jake/Rust/Jarry/Pettersson) are out playing their contracts this season.

If so, that's a very damning indictment on Dubas and his roster construction. He's essentially gotten good player for the money out of all of his top players and has completely failed to give them a supporting cast capable of competing.

- SuperHenderson13

I think my favourite part is Dubas is done a poop job but also saying Karlsson playing well/out performing his contract this year. Considering Dubas made the low cost trade to acquire him.

Karlsson has played well though. 1 Player doesn't make a hockey team.

He really has. Before the season started I said I'd be very pleased if he was in the 60-70 point range. Its just the PP has been so damning with him on it. Now, in saying that it was really starting to trend that way, anyways...they were in the bottom 3rd for PP most of last season. It smartened up a bit towards the end of season and they rose to like middle of the pack.

Wings have easily a top 5 pool of prospects in the league. Simon Edvinsson, Axel Sandin Pellikka, Danielson, Kasper, Soderblom, Mazur, Cossa and another young goalie. Not gonna happen but getting Edvinsson (hes better then Graves already) and 1 other player from that list is a W in my books.

Bergerren is definitely NHL ready. If we got him and a 1st it would be a steal.

2 things can be true. The Karlsson trade was a low risk/high reward trade that has worked out okay and Dubas's signings other than 1 or 2 havent been good enough.

I think my original statement was more of a comment saying people who blame the core for not carrying their weight isnt true.

I'm still blaming the PP. Whether it's systemic (coaching), bad chemistry or something else.... the comically bad PP is the reason this season is already over. Is it fair to blame the core for that? Not sure exactly where the accountability lies, but when they're doing the post mortem, they need honestly assess what happened.

I thought EK was pretty much as advertised. I expected some gaffes, but he's been pretty good. TBH... I'm stunned how bad Graves has been. He's f'n awful.

“Pittsburgh is telling teams they don’t want picks for Guentzel, they want prospects, that’s what they prefer, when you look at the teams that have some of the best prospects, Carolina is right up there”

Okay so Jackson Blake, Bradly Nadeau, Scott Morrow....?

The PP absolutely killed this season lol, hasn't been the same since Phil left.

It did. How many games did we talk about it? It was almost a nightly discussion. I think it was at like 10% for a while. You can probably put out any random group of 3rd liners and do better than that.

Not sure Id go as far as a steal with Berggren being 24 in 3 months and not being a full time NHL player yet. In 2-3 years hes reached what is typically his prime peak...

Guentzel was fine as a replacement for Horny. No one could replace Phil on the left half wall though, it let the PKer's cheat the other side of the ice because there was no threat from Rust, Rakell, Smith, Letang, etc.

Imagine the picks and prospects you could get for the core players. The rebuild would be thrown into warp drive with the return for Crosby alone.

Don't really care about that. Seeing Sid, Geno and Letang retire as lifers in the black and gold is more important than kickstarting a rebuild.

Nah. We need a couple of tank years so we can draft the next generational talent, and all the haters can accuse the league if being rigged.

Ruff gets canned because the Devils are in a free fall. The Penguins are also in a free fall yet Sullivan stays.

I guess, if the FO thinks that Sully is the right man for the job, then it's on the players, right? And if it's on the players, then it's the coach's job to bench or move players that are not performing, right? And if it's on the coach to do so and the coach doesn't do it, but he is the right man for the job, then what we have here is a Catch-22. Right?

It’s going to cost a lot of money to fire Sullivan, and this season is lost, so won’t happen until the summer, if at all, but y he dead money from him is a drop in the bucket to FSG and would be an EBITDA addback on their financials.

Oh, yeah, it doesn't make much sense to fire him mid-season. The FO narrative that "he is the guy" is just confusing to me. Unless it's all a ruse.
