has anyone ever seen a "defensive" structure that gives HALF the zone to the other team (the points) without pressuring them? is JM using smith book on defense, holy crap

Agree with both points.

Sens need that top 5 pick

HIGHLY likely SJS, CHI, ANA, CBJ will be bottom 4. It's between Arizona, Ottawa, and Montreal to battle for 5th worst finish.

Final point totals if teams wins against who I think (averaged)

5. Arizona - (+8 or 10 points) = 69-71 points
6. Ottawa - (+8 or 12 points) = 68-72 points
7. Montreal - (+10 or 12 points) = 71-73 points

Sens will loose to Boston tonight

CBJ just took a 3-2 lead on the PP, watched that live

Hopefully Habs beat Oilers today in Edmonton

At least they got a point. Our best hope is to see MTL and ARI win

Not since Craig Anderson have the Sens had a true #1 goalie that this team and the fans can believe in. He finished 4th in Vezina voting in 2013.

How many goalies have we had through this franchise:

Ben Bishop (222 wins - 2 cup finals - Vezina finalist in 2014, 2016, 2019)
Robin Lehner (364GP - 1 cup finals - Vezina finalist in 2019, 6th in 2020)

The walk around Chychrun goal was the back breaker for me.

They were kinda in that game too. Kinda.

Found it interesting that the broadcast found time to highlight Boston Assistant Coach Chris Kelly. He is being rumoured as head coach material in the off season and may be on Ottawa's list of candidates.

Kelly has been #1 on my Sens coaching list for a long time. As a player, he was always respected by other players. Loved by his coaches. Apparently, he is getting similar affirmations in his coaching career for the Bruins. There was always something in Kelly's game that reminded me of Rob Brind'amour. He did not have the offensive flair but he had the defensive game and team first work ethic.

So, I now have two names for my off season shopping: Chris Kelly and Pierre Luc Dubois.

Still need a name for a top 4, big body RHD.

And, maybe, we can find a goaltender capable of stopping the first and second shot of the game.

I think the last two games are indicative of where you are, i.e. a long way from being a serious contender.
Lots of good players but something is missing beyond a coach.
If I knew the answer I would apply for the job.

How about a trade with Philly in the off-season.

Philly sends Centreman Sean Couturier to Ottawa

Ottawa send Josh Norris and 2 provisional 2nd round picks to Philly.

Provision .... Norris must play 30 games or more next year. If he plays less, Philly gets the 2 picks. But 2 independent doctors must be consulted on Norris's health (so Philly can't just sit him on LTIR).

Obviously Couturier would have to give the "okay" for the trade.

4) CBJ - 58 points - 13 games left
5) OTT - 60 points - 15 games left
6) ARI - 61 points - 14 games left (playing tonight in DAL)
7) MTL - 62 points - 14 games left

At this point I have lots of people on mind. Nazem Kadri if a few years younger would be perfect, but with Norris' health, I wonder if a 3 way deal with some team taking a little bit of Norris might be best
