We are a .500 team now. How do you think it will turn out?

lol

- LordHumungous

Canucks are a lot like the 2018-2019 Flames. Limp from the Allstar break to the seasons end, winning just enough to finish 1st in the West. Then get bounced in the 1st round by the 2nd wildcard Avalanche.
Flames could never right the ship, Canucks better figure it out soon.

It depends what the return is, if they are going after Guentzel, I would think it would be both Hoglander, Podkolzin and something else.
- Reubenkincade

Hoglander has more value long term, especially at his contract and age. Hoping they steer clear of Guentzel unless it's a bargain. Would like them to target more long-term and younger options for Petey.

In one of Pat Quinn's greatest trades, the Vancouver @Canucks general manager acquires Burnaby's @CliffRonning7, Victoria's Geoff Courtnall, @SergioMomesso36, and Robert Dirk from the St Louis Blues for Dan Quinn and Garth Butcher.

That was a franchise altering trade.

I like Guentzel, but the Canucks blew their load on Lindholm, IMO. If they do go after another high end rental, I think this team will be a 1 and done team.
Can't keep sending out young players/prospects/picks and expect to find cheap players in free agency to help fill out the roster.
Very Benning like

Pretty much. Depth adds or target a young player that's under contract.

Speaking of such things, Phil Kessel signing has to be imminent.......

Yep I've also made that comparison. Hate to agree lol but pretty much spot-on. I see a 1st or maybe 2nd round bounce coming. Demko can only take them so far but it's been a fun ride this year.

He might be the best option, at this time, although I would like to see some aggressiveness added.

I am sure some on here will automatically think, goon, or some player that isn't very good. You have to spell it out to some of these cupcakes.

Hasn't it been stated publicly that they're only interested in another player if they can retain them for future years

He might be a good add for scoring depth, but also a voice in the room to right the ship. Seems well-liked on his cup-winning teams. Play him with Lindholm

But yes, also adding some toughness/attitude would be great

Maybe it didn't come from the org, might have been Dhaliwal or someone like that. They basically said the Canucks aren't willing to part with more assets for rentals, only guys they can hold onto for future years.

Even if they're not high end, I think it would help. Another player like Joshua would be nice.
