80 or more point players in a single season in Canucks history.

Thomas Gradin x 2
Darcy Rota
Stan Smyl
Patrik Sundstrom
Tony Tanti
Pavel Bure x 3
Cliff Ronning
Trevor Linden
Alexander Mogilny
Todd Bertuzzi x 2
Markus Naslund x 3
Daniel Sedin x 4
Henrik Sedin x 5
J.T. Miller x 2
Elias Pettersson x 2

The fact that Brendan Morrison never hit 80 points playing with Naslund and Bert is hilarious. God damn, we as fans have been deprived of talent for so, so long.

Man Petey's contract is going to age like fine wine. By around year 4 or 5 it's going to look like a steal

Tougher assignments, compatible with other linemates. Many pluses. Steadier on his skates.

Also different age but that’s a wait & see.

I was thinking if Bert and Nazzy had a real #1C instead of a 3rd line C this back to back 100 point season talk would be much different.

It's weird that they gave him a NMC starting in season 2025-26. Why skip 2024-25?

Years 4 and 5 are $14,450,000 and $12,250,000. You think that will be a steal? That's still pretty good. After year five it drops to $8M per.

Also if the new CBA has a big cap jump. That will be on the NHLPA agenda. Bet on it 👍

He wasn't eligible due to age I believe.

IDGAF about his salary, just hit cap hit.

I have to be careful or I'll start ranting again on how frustrating this franchise is.

Doesn’t qualify for NMC or NTC year 1.

Salary matters if you decide to trade him at some point towards the end of the deal which is quite plausible depending on where the teams is.

CBA ends at the conclusion of the 2025–26 season. If there's a lock-out there will not be a big jump. The last lock-out saw a 24% rollback on wages. The cap hit landscape will be difficult to predict in the next few years.

I think the NMC would be a bigger blocker to that than his salary. That said, they're committed to this core, I can't see them moving him unless it's in the last year

Thanks. Just looked it up. 27 years of age or older, or 7 or more accrued seasons.

It's kind of hilarious because it's a very straightforward reason, but if you don't know about the rule, the sign and trade crowd are having a field day

Conspiracies are fun to talk about. Slightly more fun than advanced stats arguments.

The post you quoted didn't call you an idiot, and for the record I didn't call you an idiot, I did mention it would be inappropriate.

About as good as when a week ago you were claiming Miller has issues with Petey because Petey is paid more than him. Except Miller is paid more than Petey.

Pouty makes 10+ this season, Miller makes 8.

Miller is 1 of a select few to record 3 consecutive 30+ goal and 50 plus assists seasons.
